With his performances so far in 2014...any guesses where Jake will be in 2015? Did Aldon drop him for Roczen, or did JW12 leave Aldon for the cheaper spread?

Jake left of his own accord... Wanted to go back to RL whom he had success with in the 250 class.

He's actually had pretty good speed, but has had some bad luck and crashes... Won his heat in phoenix tho... He'll do better I think.

Hopefully Lawrence wont break him That way he can go back to Rupert, find himself a good farmgirl and run the potato farm.

I'd wait until the outdoor season before I wrote him off entirely

Supposedly he has that ride because RV wanted him as a training partner...

Or maybe because he won Kawi a 250 SX title and 3 outdoor lites wins the year before going to the 450.

Since then he's had a few podiums and heat race wins and injuries. That's more than a lot of riders. People bag on Jake, but he's a perfect 2nd guy for a factory team. Smart, good interview/good PR, does pretty good, and clearly works hard.

He is a damn fast rider, and a super nice guy.

The year is young, and so is his mostly successful career.

He is one good start away from a good finish, not many can come through the pack and finish up front in that stacked field.

But wasn't he re-upped due to RV putting a word in for him??

I personally am rootin for the guy, hes def good enough to run up front.

I didnt mean to take a jab at him by saying he only got the ride due to RV wanting to train with him, its just something I read/heard awhile ago but wasn't sure of...and still aren't.

It's a little early in the season to write Jake off completely, but I do think it's getting to be about time for someone else to have a crack at that Factory Kawi.

Wouldn't be surprised to seem him gone next year with either Wilson or bagget in his spot

Wilson and Bagget both need to up their game or they will be in a bad spot next year.

It sucks the JWR thing fell apart on him...def a setback on his career and the guy won a title!!

Regardless I still think he will get a shot on the big bikes

I think they both have shown the potential more so than Weimer. I am surprised Wilson hasn't done better though. And baggett has a rough go with the wrist injury, the jury is still out to whether or not he has gotten the mobility in it back yet.

^^^^this

Jakes seems like a good guy and all, but he hasn't done enough in his 450 career to keep that Kawi 450 ride next year. There's gonna be too many other free agents next year that Kawi can sign instead of him.

Obviously this is my opinion as of right now. I mean if he goes on and wins the SX and MX titles, I think they'll probably keep him Wink

I would thing Wilson would be running away with it but he isn't in the hunt right now, he needs to get back up to his pre-shoulder injury speed.

Golf Claps. Thanks.

Jake will be fine. If he stays healthy he'll find his way into the top five soon, maybe even this weekend. I dont know if he'll be at Kawi next year. He's going to have to consistently show that he is a top 5 threat otherwise you would think Kawi will go with someone else based on potential. Jake could end up at RCH, MCR, BTO or maybe Gibbs next year which would be fine.

I doubt he ends up at RCH. There's too many free agents next year and Ricky wants a winner. If RCH can't get a guy to challenge for wins next year, then Ricky's coming back and it will be RIcky and RV challenging for wins.

So which riders contracts are up this year??

Wilson
Bagget
Dungey?
K-roc?
Weimer
Barcia
Grant
Brayton
Tickle
Dungey
Kroc
Canard
Millsaps

Then whichever guys in the 250 class that are gonna be moving up. There wasn't much of a silly season this year. There will probably be a lot of changes next year though, and I'd have to think their will be a premium on Monster Kawi, especially with RV rumored to be retiring after 2015.
