Someone would have to provide video proof of anyone smoother than JMB indoors or out. As far as SX smoothness goes, JMB, McGrath and Reed in that order only because that is the order of their careers. They have all made SX tracks look smooth in their time.

Outdoors you need to put Ramon in there too. That guy is smooth. And Everts for sure. Everts was smooth and fast. He could ride fast and be well in his comfort zone.

I just looked up "smooth" in the dictionary. David Bailey's picture was next to it.

Most guys listed as smooth are on the taller side so smooth must be the illusion of the bike not bouncing them around as much because of the extra leg room.

When you say taller side, do you mean like 5'8" or taller?

Ha, seems like that is the cut off for new guys! JMB, Windham, Lechien all those guys taller than the average racer now. Cant forget Larry Ward either.

That's what I was thinking!

Reynard (when he was on it in 1993-99) needs to be at the top of everyone's lists.

Windham is class, but Everts is definately the smoothest, he makes everything look effortless. Whoever put Tortelli, Carmichael and Stewart should get their eyes tested!

Everts
Windham
Ward
Thorpe
Stanton
...Bolley, JMB, Vohland, McGrath etc etc

I hate to even call out a top 5, but I will say that I was watching Blake Wharton in Indy and he is very smooth. Reminds me of Marty Tripes in a lot of ways.

I was impressed with him.
