Suzuki No Pro Contingency

Should Suzuki pay top finishing Suzuki professional racers contingency? Or should they not get paid?

James and Mike are both in similar situations, they are restoring their careers they once had by riding Suzuki RMZ450's. James is racing for free with Suzuki factory team, and Mike buys his own bikes with the help of the privateer Motoconcepts team.

Both riders are doing better now then they did on thier former brands, which may not have suited their riding style like the RMZ.

Suzuki has not paid pro contingency in 2010, 2011, or 2012.

Is something not wrong with this picture? Or is it time for this one and only manufacture who does not have contingency for pros to step in and help professional motocross/supercross racers who support the Suzuki brand?

Just wondering what you guys think about this...?

Suzuki is getting what they deserve. I raced an off road race last weekend and out of 300 bikes, there were 2 Suzuki's. I know it's off road and most guys are gay for KTM's but 2?????????? Not good

Hard to Patch a sinking ship, i wouldnt hire Mike as a welder either.. James is the only hope IMO.. There arent many suzukis around local races anymore.. Its a sea of orange

Contingency is very limited for the other brands too.
You can choose which bike you want to ride.
Dont be so sure that they aren't getting bonuses or contingency.

Seems to me that Stewart and Alessi are consenting adults in whatever relationship they have with Suzuki, so I can't figure what kind of assbackwards thinking goes into framing the issue as the OP has.

Alessi is not even riding a Suzuki - he is racing a MCR450 - You try to find a sticker on that bike that says Suzuki

Do you blame him? They aren't giving him any help at all. Why would you promote a company that wont help you out at all?

Its common sense that they arent helping him. if they were he'd be running yellow plastics and suzuki logos.

Do not think for a minute they aren't paying those guys .I am sure its a there is some sort of incentive plan .

Contingency is a incentive program. Suzuki apparently doesnt need it to attract top talent. Contingency isn't going to sell more bikes. So why do it?

Im a fan of both Bubba and Mike, but its hard to argue that Suzuki is doing anything wrong. It's apparently a great bike. They hold all the leverage.
