Yamaha has excellent manuals with their bikes - or used to. Consult the manual start fresh.
On most shocks the rebound screw bleeds both ways,compression and rebound.So.as you screw it in you stiffen compression.
What you should do is go in 5 or 6 clicks and ride it,you should notice the change,then go back and then 5 or 6 clicks out and ride it.One way is the right way.
If the track id dry and choppy the more open you run it the better you are.
On sand you want a firmer ride so go in till you like it.
The best thing to do P is get a screwdriver and learn what it does by clickin' and ridin'

If it happening when you land, its caused by to stiff of compression or to much rebound which holds suspension down into the harsh part of the stroke, kicking it side to side. Try going softer 2 clicks at a time on compression or 1 click softer rebound, speeding it up.

Tiki, it's happening right after leaving the face on high-speed big jump faces. It's only happened a couple of times and then once entering a corner. I'll see what happens tomorrow and I'll check out MikeyMeanie's info.

oldx, yes, it's pretty new. I've only had 4 or 5 ride days on it.
