Its being listed as a 1985 Honda 80, and while it may be an 80, it most certainly is NOT a 1985 model.

what's the VIN #? the 10th digit signifies the year, but I think that standard for organizing the VIN may have been started in 1986...

Its a 70's model XR.

If it says 80 then its an 77 thru 79.

If it says xr75 then it between 73 and 76.

I have 2 of them a 74 and a 76.. They are identical from 73 till 76. they are the same for the most part till 79 except they changed the name to XR 80 instead of 75.

how much does he want for it??

1979 was the first model year of the XR 80. Anything prior is an XR 75.

Its an 83, that was the first year for leading axle front end. 84s had a different number plate and 85 was the first year for prolink on a xr 80.

Never doubt me with xr 80s, I had a garage full at one time now I am down to one.

My sister had a new 1985 XR80 and it had a plastic tank with bigger graphics and a blue seat. So, I don't think its an '85 model.

It's definitely not an XR75, because it doesn't have a downpipe.
The '79 was the first year for the XR80 as someone said, plus the 1979 was the last year with the downpipe.

$450??
Man its missing the plastic side panels.

I wish I had a bigger photo of it to look at. Hell I wish I knew where it was so I could look at it.

After looking at that crappy photo I noticed it has the yellow Honda wing on the tank and no signs of a logo ever being on the seat. That would make it a 1980 model XR80.

Its not an 83. 83 was the year they changed the tank.

Moto East.. My 76 has a side pipe on it. Not a down pipe.. Its easy to swap em out they all fit.
No one said it was stock and they all look so close its almost impossible to tell them apart unless you have several better photos to see.
Plus the plastics would help too if they were on it.

Trust me, no need to even debate this anymore. Black motor, leading axel forks, chonical (SP) hub and a 83-84 tank with no black stripe down it. Its an 83.

I assume the black sticker is gone from the steering neck? Even the older xr 75's had the sticker with the year on it right?
