did you guys catch this... just before stewart crashes the first time, the camera was following reed and you hear the crowd go nuts, just as emig gets done using the "fastest man on the planet" line about bubba, the camera pans back to a downed stewart and both ralph and emig bust a nut over what has just happened... i thought it was hilarious.

ps... ralph really is a douche bag.

Then you would really hate the Canadian guys who bust a nut every two seconds..give old Ralphy a break, its hard to come up things to say when its the same old thing happening on the track most of the time. Also keep in mind he is feeding Fro much of the time so Fro can give his expert view when in actuality Ralph already knows the answer, its how it works in all of sports commentating. Most of these guys(motor sports announcers) can be ripped to shreds if you really want to.

...those guys that do the CMX series kick ass. ralph is to 'fake', he tries too hard. i know nothing about being on tv, probably never will so its not my place to explain how he should do his job, but in my opinion as a spectator he sucks.

Hey dumbshits....you are not the reason sx is live on tv. Ralph and Jeff are NOT trying to speak to mx/sx riders. They don't give two shits about you. You are not the target audience of the broadcast. The sponsors want the MAINSTREAM audience. People who have never rode a motorcycle or ever watched a sx/mx race. Get next to it and be thankful that because they are trying to attract outside advertising/sponsors you get to see this shit on tv. Get this through this your thick skull already. They are speaking to joe average chanel surfing in hopes they get them to watch and achieve ratings to hold on to and secure new advertising.

While we all appreciate your lecture on marketing 101, you need to understand that it's people like us that largely support this sport. Without breaking out a pie chart on sociodemographics, I can tell you that alienating the MX enlightened crowd by ignoring their collective opinions is stupid. Moreover, repetition and stammering is... repetition and stammering any way you slice it. I don't care who you are, people will get annoyed when someone like fro daddy talks about heart rate a thousand times over.

Lastly, if you think that commentating plays such a large part on drawing outside support then wouldn't you want the absolute best? You're really contradicting yourself mxdad. If mxsports and the combs are rallying so hard by providing next-day and live coverage (via speed and NBC) then why wouldn't they want the most seamless and exciting announcing possible? If the broadcast wasn't an issue then you probably wouldn't see this thread pop up after every weekend.
