Chad Reed to Race Steel City

We just got word from sources at Suzuki that Chad Reed is planning on racing a factory RMZ-450 this weekend at the final stop of the AMA Toyota Motocross Championship tour, at Steel City. Reed, of course, is already signed with Suzuki and had mentioned the possiblity of doing the last round of the nationals. That now appears to be the case.

Very Cool. Makes me wish I was still in Ohio. I'd love to see that race.

It will be a huge task for him to beat Bubba, but Reed has a better chance than anyone else who has raced him this season. He probably wouldn't be lining up if he wasn't feelin' good.

It seems fitting that Stewart's last race towards a perfect season will likely be his hardest.

He said he wanted some seat time before mxon.

Scott im not a reed hater nor a big fan but has he not rested long enough? I think he is doing this to get some moto in before the mxdn.. He should do good everyone else been busting there ass all season 22 motos traveling ,training and getting burnt out from it all while he has done whatever it is he does for the past 3-4 months.
I like that he is racing he should be top 5 .

I like that he is racing he should be top 5 .
I agree with everything but the top 5 part. Reed will podium. He doesn't know how not to. I am guessing 2nd place to be honest. As long as he is conditioned, no one else out there is faster aside from Bubba!

Reed needs to put himself in positions that will only help him gain confidence for the 09' sx season..... getting pwned by Bubba at the last national, is not a good way to do that.... there is no way Reed is going to beat him at Steel City.... if he had rode all the nats, maybe an outside chance.... but just dropping in on the last race is not a good recipe for winning... and more importantly, not a good recipe for increasing his confidence against Bubba...


Reed's off season should consist of focusing on not getting hurt, and learning how to scrub SX jumps as good, or better than Bubba.... if Reed can scrub like Bubba, he might have a shot at the 09' title.... if he doesn't do it, it's gonna be a longgg 09 sx season.....

Because he is not in the top 2 in the points standings and when the descision was made he was even further back than the 3rd place he is sitting in now.

Judging from video only since ive never been to Steel City it looks pretty hardpack to me..Off cambers and lots of tables.. Reed should do fine its not Southwick where his physical condition means alot. He chose a good one to come back to. Either way should be cool to see him on something new.

Honestly, I hope my source was wrong, and that we see him this weekend. That'd be cool.
