REED IS A BITCH plane and simple. i was at the yamaha test track one day when a little boy asked for his autograph and he told him he couldnt right now because he was busy ( the little guy was just standing there holding his sharpie) the lil guys dad just said he would never buy another yamaha and walked away. Just think he was on 4 teams in 4 years
You sound like an entitled, spolied little bitch having a tantrum. I'm betting the kid handled it better then you

CR is a smart guy, has to be tough healing up instead of challenging RV for the points lead as he was doing. IMO he took a little jab at his longtime rival really saying "cmon man, lets get it goin". JS knows this as it is obvious from his reply. At first I thought it was a cheap shot from CR, but really, that's not what it was, CR is just doing his deal, unfortunately he has to do it from the sidelines at this time.

Your a fuckin idiot, Do you even ride? how is sitting in a chair looking at a helmet going to change his mental state? Get a life..........These guys put themself in the lime lite it comes with the territory .Better yet do you even have kids? Also if it is SOOOOOOO important to be left alone at the test track why are they letting the public roam around..............Telling someone they need to be a better parent because Reed was being a bitch, even though he has a history of being a bitch is a stretch.
I don't ride much anymore, and even when I did it was at nowhere near the level of these guys. But I knew I had to focus and concentrate in order to be as safe as I could, even at my lethargic pace.

A guy sitting in a chair staring at his helmet sounds like a guy concentrating to me.

In no way would I encourage or even let my kids do anything that I thought would screw up the guy's concentration. The stakes are just too high, I think.

Teach kids that an autograph is just a silly piece of paper and that might cure a lot of this hero worship disappointment.

It's seems Reed is a guy deeply dedicated to his family , his sport, and his team, yet you choose to
judge this guy you don't really know, by what you, a stranger, claims he saw on one occasion.

This ignorant, bitter, selfishness is far too common in this culture.

Reed races hard, seems loyal to family and team, but no, Reed is bitch, plane and simple,
because some internet guy says so. Classic.

those people are the one buying bikes and making a job for a$%holes like reed. you have no idea how it works. bottom line is he is representing a company and his duty is to make poeple want to buy the product he is using and acting that way lost a customer, so im sure yamaha would not be happy

Perhaps to you Reed was simply looking at his helmet, but maybe that's where an adult should step in and let a youngster know about the mental aspects of riding at the speed those guys ride at. Every year there are plenty of guys who miss races each year due to practice/testing crashes. It'd be a pretty good idea to teach a youngster to let these guys mentally prepare in whatever way they need to because it's a dangerous game they are playing.

Sounds like a parent completely missed the boat on this lesson and simply thought the world revolved around him and his kid. That's too bad, but not surprising.

Just about every comment in this thread is hypocritical. Reed Watched a sport and put his opinion about it on the internet. Gee... no one has ever done that. Sports simply shouldn't be talked about and we definitely shouldn't have an opinion.

Whether he was right or wrong, it doesn't matter. I'll bet you can find lots of comments from James on other sporting participants that are similar in their message. But since those are not about him, they're fine.

Also, I'd like to know what's so off base about the comment anyway. Clearly James is struggling in main events. Something is definitely wrong with the guy, but I guess we better not hurt his feelings by saying what we see.
^This. People are very jumpy, racers and board members.

I'm going with James here, I like the response. It also looks like Reed felt a bit sheepish after James getting back to him on it.

Maybe Chad was just throwing out some negatives in to use in contract negotiations.......Blink

and racer also get hurt at the races, so maybe they should just stop autograph lines of hundreds of people on race day and the racers can just not talk to anyone untill they retire. because i know its hard to ride after talking to someone.

I think the REAL butt hurt comes from when James passed him, let Reed pass him and then passed him again and walked away like it was saturday practice.

Reed wont ever get over that. No matter what he says.

I also thought James was doing one hell of a come back and then got stuck on Millsaps that was actually fading back? I thought it was weird.

The problem about Reeds statement is that it's probablyy spot on.

There's a reason that the autograph sessions don't run up til the gates drop....

That should be obvious.

Again, teach your kids to be courteous and respect the times when they are doing their jobs. If you do decide to teach them that a signature scratched on a sheet of paper is unbelievably valuable and that they have every right to demand one from a rider, at least have the courtesy of having them do so in the autograph lines.....

All I know is Stewart is still out there and Reed is out for the year. Perhaps the pace was too fast for Reed.

well let me shedsome light on your dark crazy world, all 5 factory tracks are within 30 seconds from each other and i have spent years at them and i have seen every other rider, trainer and mechanic take a few seconds out of their program to say hello or sigh anything you hand to them, R C lifted my daughter on to his bike for a pic with him. reed was the only one to act like that. try to find a copy of may 2006 racer x and read the poles they took, reed was picked # 1 as the rider they would least like to work for, # 1 for giving their machanics bonuses and worst with the public

Reed should watch the race and keep his mouth shut. I am not saying this because I am a Stewart fan. Reed has won over a lot of fans in the last couple years. But making comments like that reminds me of Josh Grant calling Dungey a choker after the first Moto at Steel City last year. When a riders injured because they were pushing it too hard, they should keep their negative comments about other riders who are still racing to themselves.

I hope I don't get a visit from the motocross police because I said something negative about Reed since everyone seems to have a lovefest with him right now. I thought it was interesting that there was a Chad Reed day or week or whatever it was after his crash in Dallas. I don' t recall there being a day dedicated to RV when he crashed out of the series in 2010 or Canard either last year or this year or anyone else?
That just happened! Well said

Lol you act like Reed was turning laps and the dad and kid walked out on the track and made him stop. Also you keep referring to the OP as the dad. He was just at the track it was someone elses kid. Your trying to give us a lesson in parenting and for some reason it's annoying the fuck out of me, lol. Anyways not everyone was trained by the autograph nazi's still doesn't mean Reed had to be a prick.

then he should not be on a race bike because the way he acts, no one will buy what he rides. shame on the teams that hired/hires him.
