Honda $$ and little insight on what bourses are and insurance clauses. Early to mid 00’s we’re the peak in the industry $

Great interview with RC in a “non Moto” setting. Lots of dumbing down for guys who aren’t hardcore in it. I’d definitely suggest a listen.

Was cool to hear RC talk about when Honda brought there bike down to the farm to test while he was still on Kawasaki so he knew what he was getting into before he signed. I’ve always wondered with Reed, Bubba, Rc, Windham all having there own facilities back in the day what teams came down for top secret test. We all know about the bubba on the cr125 photos but other stuff would be cool to see

Chad rode the RM250 before re-signing with Yamaha. Said it had a better engine, but Yamaha still had a better chassis. Then Yamaha decided to come out with the aluminum frame. Everyone knows he hated it.

Personally I found it interesting finding out what happened to his 4 wheel career. He was pretty decent at it and then it just ended. Now I know why.

He said he hated racing motocross his entire life but did it anyway because he felt he owed it to his parents.

That’s kind of rough.

People start their kids racing too young... their childhood is wasted at tracks, in pursuit of a career that probably won't pan out, instead of learning all the normal life lessons..... rc is proof that even when everything comes together, it still doesn't work out... those kids are used to sell motorcycles and accessories, they make millions for certain people, then are thrown out with the trash when the time is right.... all the racers doing it the rc way (24/7/365 moto) are burnt out by 25.... and figure out how badly they were used by 26....

I'm not so sure he's in tune with a privateer's annual income... $150K seems a bit generous for a 12th-22nd place rider.

I really like Dale's show, I've been a fan for a few years now.

I don’t understand RC, he has had just about every Saturday night to say something interesting but waits until he gets on a Podcast to actually say something interesting….

Nascar has been part of my life from the beginning, so hearing the driver stories are the best. Watch the episode with Joseph Newgarden. That dude is as sharp as it gets!

That was easily one of the best RC interviews I’ve ever heard (maybe the best?). Jr did a great job of not only asking questions that a non-moto fan would want to know, they also dove (in detail) into several topics that the “moto journalists” just gloss over or don’t ask. I liked hearing RC explain to car guys the process of chassis and motor setup on a dirt bike. The part about his total career AMA purse earnings vs his purse earnings in a race car was interesting. Also, people have mentioned these championship insurance policies for ages, but this was the first time someone really broke down exactly how they work. Definitely worth a listen.

2k to make a night show, most guys everything is paid for and they receive salary from gear, brand contingency, yearly salary from team, it makes sense. Maybe not so much the guys barely making the main but I bet he knows more than us lol.

RC isn’t familiar w/ privateer life and what that wallet looks like. My experience says I’m a little more in-tune.

I enjoyed it. One takeaway was RC reiterating that greatness (in anything really, sports, business, music, etc) is when natural born talent and sacrifice meet. He’s said a few times how much he hated racing because it wasn’t fun for him. It cost him his childhood. He can look back on it now and enjoy those times, but you’re not necessarily able to live in the moment.
