Pourcel Signs!

Los Angeles, CA – MotoConcepts Racing is pleased to announce the signing of Christophe Pourcel to contest the 2011 AMA Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship aboard a Yamaha YZ450F.

Pourcel is coming back from a shoulder injury sustained at the final race of the season last year and underwent surgery and extensive physical rehabilitation to make a complete recovery. The extended time off has greatly benefitted the 22 year old and is allowing him to come into the motocross season in top condition and feeling well prepared. Pourcel commented “The end of the season last year was disappointing but I’m very excited to make a brand new start in the motocross season with a new team, a new motorcycle and some good people behind me. It’s going to be interesting to see what we can accomplish together.”

MotoConcepts Racing Team Owner Mike Genova had this to say about making the highly anticipated signing: “We, at MotoConcepts, are excited to bring a rider of Christophe’s caliber to our program. We are confident with his talent and his history of winning coupled with our experienced staff. MotoConcepts will a very competitive force in the 450 Motocross class this summer.”

About Christophe Pourcel:

Christophe Pourcel grew up in a motocross family in France and began riding at the age of five. He went on to become an accomplished amateur racer and turned professional at the age of 15.

In 2006 Pourcel became the 3rd youngest FIM Motocross World Champion in history at 18 years of age by winning the MX2 Class Championship. His debut in AMA Supercross Lites racing in 2007 resulted in a 2nd place finish in his first race and a win in his second race in Phoenix before returning to Europe for another year of FIM MXGP competition. After suffering a catastrophic injury in August of 2007 during his MX2 title defense, he was forced to miss the 2008 season. He returned to competition in 2009 in the AMA Supercross Lites class and won his first race back and went on to claim the AMA Supercross Lites East Championship and successfully defended that title in 2010.

Born: August 16th, 1988 Marseille, France

Currently residing in Groveland Florida, USA

Thanks for the info GuyB.

Wonder what the deal was? One would think Factory Kawi would have more to pay than MotoConcepts.

No matter - be good to see him out there!

There's some good news in that press release- in spite of the punctuation errors.

and this is why i don't like the guy. he went strictly for the money. u would think he would consider the quality of the team, equipment, team history, etc. u would also think his loyalty to mitch and pc would trump dollar signs but i guess that's not the case. no wonder why he was black listed in the first place...

You're making up assumptions without having any idea of the intricacies of the negotiations.

Oneals website site has twitter of Cp's deal with Motococepts. I think he will be wearing Oneals monster line in the end. just an educated guess.

And sometimes things like this come back to haunt you.

Especially when money is concerned.

It's funny how people throw out accusations without 1st hand knowledge. Arrogant well when he shows up at local races here and sits in the stands with all the other crazy rednecks might show something different. He was very gracious and talked at length with any of the kids who approached him. And even blushed when others mentioned how hot his girlfriend was!!
