Has anyone ever ordered parts from this website? I have had a horrible experience with them. I'm hoping my experience is an outlier because they do have good prices on OEM parts.

Basically to start, I made a post here about 2 weeks ago. I broke my kick start shaft which caused my crankcase cover to crack. So obviously I needed to order all that. So I find their website, it seemed like a good website with good prices. I place all my needed items in my shopping cart, they all say they're in stock. Great, I won't have to wait for back ordered items. Also, upon checking out it says 2 day air shipping available. Cool, I wouldn't mind riding this coming weekend so I'll take it. I place my order on 3/25/17.

Fast forward to Wednesday, no parts. Eh, whatever no big deal. Thursday rolls around and still no parts. So I figure they've gotta be on their way and certainly they must have sent a shipping confirmation to my email, right? Nope, nothing. I contact the website and they inform me 2 of the 6 items I've ordered are on back order so none of my items have shipped. Ouch, bad news.

So I very bluntly ask two times, "why did your website clearly advertise these items as being in stock when they weren't?" They refused to answer and as I was speaking to them they miraculously just received the parts from Yamaha, and would ship them out "immediately, two day air (which I already had.)" So, it's now 4/3/17 and still no parts. Its funny because I ordered some other parts off of a fella on eBay that exact same day and I've had them since last Wednesday.

Anyone who orders parts from this site just be warned that they do lie about parts actually being in stock. If you need something within a week or so I recommend finding a more suitable place to order them.

Disclaimer* I am not upset these items took this long to get here. I understand these things happen. I am upset that this website says they have these items in stock when clearly they don't. That, to me, is shady business. I also don't like that after being told they finally got the parts in it took them another day or so to ship the parts out with 2 day air shipping. Maybe I'm overreacting, I don't know. All I know is I still have no parts and have no idea if they're even coming or not.

Ive ordered from them a few times with my business account and havnt had any real problems, they do take a few days longer than RM on most things but nothing drastic that ive experienced. As far as OEM parts go you definitely cant beat the price. One thing I have done before though is had RM price match the Partzilla price of certain OEM parts just because I know RM isn't bullshitting me when they say they have the parts in stock.

I have had the same thing happen on all of the big online parts houses such as BTO and Motosport... But at least they send an email and explain why its delayed and when it is expected to ship.

What annoys me is when the backordered item is something I don't need right away, but I added it to get over the magical amount to receive free shipping! Blink Pinch

That's a good program to run right there! Good thinking!

This exact thing happened to me. A buddy of mine had a spare crankcase gasket he gave me. I ordered a new one with my order just to replace the one he was giving me. Of course he told me not to, but obviously I did anyways. Well of course that was one of two items on back order.

To add too my reply and the OP I will say that from all the places ive ordered from RM and Motorcycle Superstore seem to be the most honest about what they actually have in the warehouse. Ive had an experience like your with Bike Bandit before. I ordered a fender that nobody else had in stock because I needed it ASAP. After I order I get an email saying they have to get this part from the manufacturer and it could take up to 2 weeks. So I called them and asked WTF does it say in stock for if it isn't? Then they tell me they cant drop ship it and when they get it they cant overnight it because the item is too big. I told them cancel the order and id find it somewhere else. Called motorcycle superstore, they can have on later today and have it to me by tomorrow. And guess what?? They had me a fender the next day! I don't know why some places operate the way these said stores do but it really grinds my gears.

Exactly. My biggest thing is don't lie. If they had told me it was on back order and wouldn't be shipped out til Thursday I still would have purchased from them because of the lower price. And i wouldn't have had a single problem with it. It's the whole fact that they blatantly lie to us by saying they're in stock. Could you imagine if you called a local shop, asked if they had the part, they say yes, pay over the phone, then you go to get the part and they say oh, no, nevermind I don't have it in stock.

Adding my .02, Ive ordered a couple thousand dollars of parts (all OEM) thru Partzilla over the past 3 years building my vintage bikes and never once had a shipping or communication issue. Obviously there were a few times that there were a couple of back-ordered items ,but my shipments werent held up,unless the backordered piece was only a couple of days out. Typically the back-ordered pieces were in within a week, but even that was a rarity. So in probably 75 separate orders ,ive had maybe 2 or 3 slight delays. Ive been really pleased with them, but again ,all my parts were for late 70's early 80's suzukis/yamahas and a misc Honda or two. Cant say how they are with the current day, modern stuff, though.

I buy and flip bikes and ordered from partzilla a few dozen times. They are the best priced on oem. However i agree with you, the waiting on backorder or whatever with them truly blows. Especially when it said it was in stock. I will usually call the cs if its a priority part i need to verify its in stock. The cs is very nice and helpful

I recently placed an order for several 2002 YZ250F parts. They all showed up fairly quickly except the crankshaft half, which they said was in stock. Turns out, it was in stock, in some Japanese warehouse. Every two weeks they would give me a new delayed shipment date.

I waited about 2 months for that part - but I didn't need it quickly, I just needed it. I eventually inquired to Rocky Mountain if this part was discontinued or not and they confirmed that it was, so I kept waiting. I could complain, but their prices were awesome so I won't.

Moral of the story, you get it fast at Rocky Mountain (my go to place). You can get it cheaper at Partzilla, but may wait an unknown time.

Nothing by positive experiences with Rocky Mountain. Their RM cashback scheme gives you money towards your next purchase depending on how much you order. I also like supporting them because they take the time to post 'how to' videos on YouTube.

Same here.

I've found that if Partzilla has a lower price, RM will match it. If it's significant I'll ask RM to match. If it's close, I don't bother.

Wow, I didn't know that. I wish I had because I definitely would have ordered from RM. Partzilla was significantly cheaper than RM's price. I'm talking over $200 total for the 6 parts I needed.

Ahhh, Partzilla...

Indeed, I never use them for anything I need "pronto". I ordered $1200+ in parts for a complete between the cases rebuild on 3/30/17 and it won't ship until 4/19/17 at the soonest due to the shift drum... One damned part of about 100 parts ordered holding up the train. Typical.

I can wait. If I didn't have another bike and was lulled into believing everything was in stock, I too would be incensed.

"Oh, no, your shit's in Tokyo, go go Partzilla"... Little BOC nod there.

I like my BOC. Very similar experiences with Partzilla. Ordered OEM Honda part from RMATVMC, and there was a color code snafu, they pulled the part in the warehouse while I was on the phone to be 100% sure it was what I wanted. Hard to beat that. I try and spread the love, so everybody gets my business at some time or another.

Well sht didnt know rm will match prices. Ive lately been ordering from RM best prices on tires. Parts are a little more. Not too bad though. I however notices cam yz450f chains shot up in price. Like almost by double.

I recently picked up an 04 YZ125 and needed some OEM hardware. Swingarm chain slider bolts and washers and rear axle nut was mangled. Everything showed in stock on their website(BikeBandit). The axle nut and washer show on order and the swingarm chain slider bolts show cross shipped. It's only been a day so i will see what happens. Would like to have them by the weekend but not going to get bent out of shape. If it's something I needed right away and it was implied they had the part on hand just to have it back ordered or whatever, I'd be pissed

Partzilla is basically a "pass through" company. Same as Bike Bandit. When it shows "in stock" that means that the OEM is showing the part available for Partzilla to order from them, not that someone at Partzilla can walk over and put their hands on it today.

That's different than RM or Motosport. If it shows in stock at RM they can ship it to you today and you can have it tomorrow. Big difference. If it shows 5-7 days, they don't have it and the OEM might not have it either.

If I pay for 2 day shipping, I want the part in 2 days because I must need it now. Not 2 days after the middleman (Partzilla, or Bike Bandit) finally gets it from the OEM. I got burned by BTO on some stuff like that once. Was not amused.

I use Honda East Toledo (I haven't found anyone cheaper) for anything oem if I don't need it that same week. RMATV if I need it faster.

Also support RM for their support of our sport. Fast shipping also. Motosport sadly lost my business when they started charging ca tax.

Rocky Mountain and Motosport. Never an issue. Totally worth paying a couple extra percentage points just for good service.
