There is a link to the DMXS radio archive where he says he is racing the nationals. If he isn't racing why put this on his own website and look like a dick? Sounds like it is going to happen.

Well, if he doesn't, pretty sure he'll get lots of exposure on this and other boards...

I would like to think James really wants to race, being a racer, and wouldn't put it out there if he didn't intend to follow through, but, I guess will find out soon enough.

Same, you'd think no matter how much $$ he has, just attending 3 races in one season has got to drive him nuts... Is one thing having the summer off with the No1 plate, but to to sit it out after a bum season can't feel so cushty.

James himself said that he expects to take a lot of heat if he is not there. When you make statements like he did, I don't think you can expect people not to expect him to be there. I don't know why you are trying to deflect criticism.

I personally don't get the people who think James is only in it for the money anyway.

I mean, do they have the remotest clue into what makes a top athlete tick?

Money is the byproduct of the desire to win. Even little old me gets that, and I'm just a "stupid redneck" in Oklahoma with Jim!

QFT James just wants to be the fastest out there. I could see how he would want a little time to enjoy the perks too. shit. let the players play.

I hope James races.
It is a bit hard to be a fan when he is not on the line.

Uh, yes he did! When they asked on a scale of 1-10 what was the likelyhood of him being there, his reply was a 12 if he is healthy, which he will be barring any more wrecks between now and then.

You forgot to mention that before he said that he said that IF he was 100% healthy. That is a BIG if and in now way means "I will be there for sure."

If JS7 comes back for any of the SC rounds chances are slim to none that he'll be healthy for the outdoors.

Exactly. The biggest percentage of the posters have no idea what kind of drive and desire it takes to be even close to a pro in ANY sport.

I guess it's a glass half full or empty thing.

Listening to the interview, it genuinely seems like James wants to race the outdoors and did qualify it by saying if he's healthy, but that's just normal protocol when coming back from an injury.

And like he said, since he's not racing the majority of the SX season, it makes sense this year.

David hits the nail dead center on the head

Nobody outside of the JS7 camp even knows how far along the broken navicular in his wrist has healed. It's a serious injury and he shouldn't rush back unless he wants to prematurely end his income stream.

All we can do is hope he heals up 100%

Did you not get the impression that he meant he'd be at a couple definitely, but didn't seem sure about the series?!!?!

It's really very simple...people have grown tired of the boy who cries wolf.

There is always and if, but, or, maybe surrounding James.

Either he shows up and races or he doesn't. NO ONE will be 100% healthy when the first National of the year happens. If he wants to race, he can make it happen.

No use in worrying about it until the first MX national.

Yeah, he said he'd be at Sacramento, but racing that, close by San Manuel's head quarters, and racing the whole season...

And with the Des Nations in Colorado, I wouldn't be surprised if he's just trying to get his eligibility for it this year...

Watching him rail the beach section at Glen Helen '08 was pretty amazing.
