I would like to think James really wants to race, being a racer, and wouldn't put it out there if he didn't intend to follow through, but, I guess will find out soon enough.

I mean, do they have the remotest clue into what makes a top athlete tick?
Money is the byproduct of the desire to win. Even little old me gets that, and I'm just a "stupid redneck" in Oklahoma with Jim!
It is a bit hard to be a fan when he is not on the line.

Listening to the interview, it genuinely seems like James wants to race the outdoors and did qualify it by saying if he's healthy, but that's just normal protocol when coming back from an injury.
And like he said, since he's not racing the majority of the SX season, it makes sense this year.
Pit Row
Nobody outside of the JS7 camp even knows how far along the broken navicular in his wrist has healed. It's a serious injury and he shouldn't rush back unless he wants to prematurely end his income stream.

Either he shows up and races or he doesn't. NO ONE will be 100% healthy when the first National of the year happens. If he wants to race, he can make it happen.
No use in worrying about it until the first MX national.
And with the Des Nations in Colorado, I wouldn't be surprised if he's just trying to get his eligibility for it this year...
So would Dungey,Alessi & Canard.
Also JG,Stroupe & Barcia
Watching him rail the beach section at Glen Helen '08 was pretty amazing.
