Offroad game developers PLEASE watch this video (RDR2)

The dirtbike video games have taken huge steps in the recent years but still I would like to see a bit more realism in them.

Everytime I play RDR2, and ride through the insane forest and mountain trails with my noble horse, I can almost taste the feeling how sweet it would be to rip the same trails with a dirtbike. This is the kind of environment we want in an offroad videogame.

In Finland we ride a lot of winter enduro in deep snow during the winter, so when I saw the deforming snow in the beginning of RDR2 gameplay, I went "WOW" and immediately started to dream of blazing the snow trails with a bike.

Just look at the graphics and scenery in the videos below:

Rockstar is the number one developer in video games and this game will likely sell 100+ million units. I bet the MX games are lucky to sell one million units. The budgets for making a MX game will be noting but a small fraction compared to that of a AAA game.

Rockstar takes YEARS to develop a game and when they do, its an amazing game that sells millions. Their games are relatable to everyone.

Mx games are made yearly, and is only relatable to a small fraction of society. They dont really sell like a AAA title game either.

Unless EA or Activision picks up an mx game, its not going to happen. And if one of them do, its going to suck because both of those companies are plain terrible.

An MX game on the frostbite(battlefield) engine would be killer tho.

As I've been playing RDRD2 I've kept thinking they should make a "trail riding" game or something along those lines. You could get flats and fix your bike while on the trail, have mini-missions, hill climb challenges, balance challenges etc.

Hell, you could just take the existing environment and use that and just change out the cities to be more modern lol.

All I know is I'd play a dedicated "Trail Riding" game.

Even the horses characteristics are not bad for a bikes handling. Would be amazing. The thing is it would be an amazing fishing or hunting game or an amazing war game or an a amazing strategy game too. It has a lot of good characteristics that would be a step up in most genres. A Moto game would be great .

Might be a downgrade in graphics, but the physics of MXS seemed to be right in line with RDR.

the last MX vs ATV was great on all of that imo, it was the physics I couldn't get used to. Some said MX vs ATV Supercross was too "arcady" but it seemed their best one to me once the bike was dialed.

I'm not sure if it'll sell 100+ million copies. GTA V did but it has a bigger audience. That said here are stats that I posted a while back in the RDR2 thread in non-moto.

-In the opening weekend the game was released they achieved $725 million in sales.

-That put RDR2 second place in terms of sales in an opening weekend. Sitting in the number 1 spot is GTA V which did $1 billion in sales.

-RDR2 is the fastest selling video game since GTA V. Both games are developed by Rockstar.

-RDR2 already sold more copies than the first game did in the first 8 years.

-RDR2 also broke other records for digital sales on the Playstation Network: most pre-orders, biggest day-one full game sales, and most sales in the first three days.

In comparison here are stats I found for MX games.

ATV Offroad Fury (PS2) 2.41m copies sold.
ATV Offroad Fury 2 (PS2) 2.18m copies sold.
ATV Offroad Fury 3 (PS2) 1.20m copies sold.
Jeremy McGrath Supercross '98 (PS1) 1.04m copies sold.
Jeremy McGrath Supercross 2000 (PS1) 0.71m copies sold.
McGrath vs Pastrana Freestyle Motocross (PS1) 0.26m copies sold.
Championship Motocross featuring Ricky Carmichael (PS1) 0.58m copies sold.
Championship Motocross 2001 featuring Ricky Carmichael (PS1) 0.14m copies sold.
MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael (PS2) 0.56m copies sold.
MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael (Xbox) 0.14m copies sold.
MX SuperFly featuring Ricky Carmichael (PS2) 0.28m copies sold.
MX SuperFly featuring Ricky Carmichael (Xbox) 0.10m copies sold.
Jeremy McGrath Supercross World (PS2) 0.23m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Unleashed (PS2) 1.03m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Unleashed (Xbox) 0.40m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Reflex (PS3) 0.91m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Reflex (Xbox 360) 0.72m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Untamed (PS3) 0.65m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Untamed (Xbox 360) 0.68m copies sold.

MX vs ATV Supercross Encore (PS4) 0.06m copies sold.
MX vs ATV Supercross Encore (Xbone) 0.06m copies sold.
MX vs ATV All Out (PS4) 0.06m copies sold.

We need the makers of Dirt Rally to make a GNCC game. Should we mass email them?

Cough cough* Desert game cough cough*

I would be satisfied with either. Seems like Milestone could have been mildly hinting at an Enduro GP game with the free ride compound in MXGP Pro

I’m buying Ride 3 tonight, I have moved away from mx games. I have had tons of fun racing with buddies on motogp 17 & Valentino Rossi the game.
There’s something about perfecting a track and sliding into the corners correctly that makes playing so satisfying. I’ll keep supporting mx games but I have had so much fun racing full prototype motogp bikes.

I found Gavin
Many people claim to have found him, yet no one has proven he even exists. His name isn't even in the credits.
