Pretty strange he hasn't got a ride in the US, Hahn too, Regal is really fast outdoors I think he would be a good fit for a decent GP team....

Kyle is still a kid in need of guidance according to his step-father. He didn't even want the kid on his own in Cali, nevermind the other side of the world. The only reason the L&M deal got signed is because Brooks offered to take Kyle into his own home.

I hope he gets something together as he seemed very cool, and was ultra fast outdoors in 2010

Is the question based on him complaining that he really wants to race in Europe but no one is interested? If he wanted to race the GPs I'm sure he could send some feelers out there and get offers. As far as the U.S. who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Who prices themeselves out of a ride, who has burned bridges, who has off-track issue we aren't privy to, etc. Some of the guys on satellite teams are paying to be there, so my guess is they get preference over those looking to get paid.

It baffles the hell out of me that no one here in the states is interested in him; I thought the McGrath/Brooks deal was gonna happen but I guess that isn't the case anymore with the grumblings in the internet. Damn shame, he is a really strong outdoor rider and in time could/will be a good SX rider also. Hope he can get something soon...

Lets not kid ourselves, that CRF 450 was the best money could buy a privateer. Just because he went on the cheap and traveled in a Sprinter van doesn't mean that thing was anywhere near stock. And what Regal was missing is consistency. He had plenty of bad to go with the good the last few years.

So Blose falls through the cracks? It sucks for Blose but I can see a team getting one of a replacement rider when one of their guys goes down.

I'm afraid there isn't anymore place in a "decent team" for 2012 in MX1 GPs...

There aren't that many free spots anymore ... Yeah he could get a bike with Sturm Kawasaki or with Team Salucci-HM Honda but the big teams ... They are full!

With some of the recent guys (Jimmy Albertson springs to mind)... importing a young American rider might seem like a high risk move for some teams, seems like a lot of them struggle with the culture + getting homesick etc. Brown & Osbourne seem to have nailed it though.

Gotta give Osbourne props for standing on his own two feet out here.

And Lieb! The guy stayed here even through lots of problems that were out of his control. I think he deserves major props for it!

There are 2 premier series in the world. If you can't get a ride in one, then it just makes sense to see what options are available in the other. This is surely better than sitting on the sidelines.

As for being home sick, how bad do these guys want it?

Didn't Sean Hamblin came to Europe to for a full season and leave after two races to be back for the AMA Season because he didn't felt good? Also after the debacle with Ben Townley a top5 guy in the states...

I agree to some extent but I think being home sick is more or less just dealing with the lack of emotional support.

You wouldn't think it means much but not having a friend or friends to confide in messes with your head after awhile.

I think Hamblin did the full season from what I remember. Watched him race a couple of times at British champs actually.

Guess the UK based teams would be an easier transition than, well, any other team that doesn't speak English as their first language. ha.

Just asked because I thought I remembered him tweeting about signing with MCR, but that was before the whole MCR/Alessi deal went down

I knew who he was talking about, when I looked to see where Hahn was going I noticed Weeck was not on MCR anymore on that list

Regal had a great offer to ride for a factory team in Europe and turned it down. I think he was so intent on getting the second slot over at LMC that he wouldn't even consider what he should do if that fell through. Now that they are only going to have Short, he is left with not much to do.

The 2009 CRF 450 was the worst bike out there according to all the guys who raced one and the 2010 is the best?

Not Hamblin he did ok, had a great attitude and the fans really took to him, would have probably cracked it in the second year but got kinda stitched up by Swift and left without a ride. I think you might have been referring to Ryan Mills, he seemed the polar opposite of Sean.
