Bought this on Craigslist with about 2 hours on it. Was very disappointed (motor wise) when I first rode it completely stock. Made the changes listed below and now the thing absolutely rips. Had a 09 KTM 250 before this with a 300 cylinder, but must say that this bike is now nearly as fast although the KTM was stock. The KTM had a much easier to ride powerband but this thing is a ton of fun. Pulled 2 huge holeshots on it last week against gate of 450's. Not to say its faster, but definitely can get the job done. Went for the black just to do something different. Also have a 125 getting build that should be done in about 2 weeks.

Modifications

Eric Gorr cylinder porting
Pro circuit pipe and silencer
V-force Reeds
JD jet kit ( richer needle on middle clip, and 420 main)
DT-1 high flow air filter
TGT suspension handlebars
MB1 supension
Added 1 tooth to rear sprocket
Have to run 75% race gas

Thanks, appreciate that! Was going for a different look, and have a 125 coming that will be different as well. I got it for 2700, and I can tell you the bike was pretty much brand new.

haha, I knew sooner or later I was going to get shit for the blacked out bike. Not usually a fan of the mulisha look, but just wanted to try something different.

Very nice.

The Eric Gorr 300 kit will hopefully be on my ride in the near future.

That will be sweet. My KTM 300 had an awesome powerband which was very easy to ride.

not quite sure what I think about the graphics. I think they would look better if they were just black with the yellow honda logo. Looks good otherwise though

Wish they still had new ones. I did hear though from some very good sources that Honda maybe working on new 2 stroke, although it would be an offroad model first. We will have to wait and see but that would be good. More options is better for everyone.

I'd like to get a TM next and might be trying one next week but they are expensive and hard to sell. Not a fan of the Yamaha, my brother has one and the chassis is really stiff. I liked my KTM but wanted something different. As far as the Husky goes, it looks awesome but I think it would be tough to get parts.

I love both types, but if i got a new 2 stroke,it would be the KTM, unless Yamaha changes some stuff for next year, plastics, blk wheels, etc! I have a rmz 450, great bike also.

My KTM was a great bike, easy to ride and great brakes and clutch. Suspension was OK but not as good as the Honda. The Honda took a lot of work but now that it's all done I really like it. The new KTM 250 is tempting though, it looks great.

I'm not a fan of black plastic but must say the yellow really sets it off! Yellow stand is a nice touch too.

I was afraid of the black as well, but I'm happy with how it turned out. I have a white 125 in the works.

Nice to hear about Gorr's motor work. Lots of vintage guys swear by him. Does it have a Mikuni Carb? I hear the Keihin really make the bottom come alive. Carbparts.com has a pre jetted Keihin but their site says 02-05 Cr250's. I'm thinking when I get back into it again of going 2 stk. At 54, I don't need a thumper to run around at the back of the pack.

It's the stock carb and took a lot of trial and error to get right. It's spot on now and runs cleaner than any 250 I have owned. I was really impressed by the motor work, because the bike was downright terrible stock. I really don't think you need the other carb, I can't imagine this bike being any faster or crisper. I do have to run mostly race gas so it does not ping. The motor comes on really low, but is really aggressive once it hits. If I was still racing every week I would get a 450, but for the limited racing I do now I love this bike.

I bought it for 2700 and that was in pretty much brand new condition. I'm in it for about $3200 right now, but I did get most of the parts for cost and the suspension was comp'd. I'd say at retail cost probably would be close to $4000.
