Dear NBC and AMA, I know you think us moto fans are are super mathletes. Granted, while we are more intelligent than the average sports fan, can you save us from having to set down our beers to use our fingers to add up the time between riders? Pleeeeeeeeeease for the love of all that is holy, bring back the "time behind leader" scroll on the timing and scoring.

Time behind leader gives you more information with less math. Bring it back!

With you on this. The race your in is always with the guy in front of you, so it was interesting to watch when guys were really closing the gap on the next position. I don't mind either one, but i didn't dislike it.

Hate this format. Its the Common Core Math of timing/scoring. Previous method tells you how far out of the lead and how far behind the next guy with a glance. New method only tells you how far behind the next guy. If you want to know how many times Factory support rider Justin Bogle has got lapped, you're SOL.

Curious why you preferred this format? I can't figure out what it brings...it is only slightly more clear how far behind the next rider a guy is at the expense of losing basically all other information.

Before I could easily see "oh, Tomac is 17 seconds back and Barcia is 19, a 2 second gap." Now I can see that Barcia is 2 seconds back of Tomac, but good luck having any idea where they are relative to the leader.

Even worse, we can't track how guys are gaining relative to anyone except the guy right in front of them. Tracking Jett's gap to first in that first moto as he climbed through the pack would've been awesome.

I’m usually not one to rant, but I definitely did prefer seeing the gap time from the leader
