That sucks, I assume no Hangtown then. He flies at that track and I'll be there this year. Like Hepler he is always heading for the lead or heading for the hospital.

Bummer.........was hoping to see Langston go for it over 12 rounds instead of the default later rounds although he did look great at Southwick.

But boy does this kid break alot.

Let's see how it plays out. Since he'd started riding again a while back, he'd already taken another hard digger and konked his melon.

I had a phone call earlier from a team manager trying to let me know about this, but he was suffering from Glen Helen cell phone reception. I'll see what else I can find out.

I was parked right next to him today.....really bad news =(

The track was really short and windy today, also really crowded. These guys are going extremely fast and have to go through riders every second. Not sure if this could be the cause?

That would be very, hard to do...Being that the bridge is 20 + feet to right side, and about 12 feet higher.

Also...I'm sure a lot of slow 2-strokes got in the way

Better look again at that bridge. When I was there last week I thought it was way to close to the track, and was shocked nobody had hit it that day. I took pics from right where the bridge goes into the ground, it wouldn't take much of a bobble to get swapped and nail it coming down that downhill.

They also have some PLASTICs blue-red, rectangles marking the track. I saw someone hit one hard today........... they where placed too close to some high speed turns.

I could be slightly off on my measurements, but I have been on that bridge several times, raced over it, under it. Marked GP courses by it, watered the track under it, and parked my work quad by it. I don't know that anyone has hit it before.

I'm not saying it's impossible, just saying it's not likely. I'm sure safety was considered when it was concreted in.

Believe me, AMA is really strict on stuff like that. If it is an issue they will have the crew do something about it.

The track has to be twenty feet wide, multiply that twice, then the space between (approx., 10 feet) the up, and down side...The bridge is 130 feet long and centered...do the math

Ok Glen Helen isn't really the standard by which track safety should be measured by. They are, by far, one of the unsafest tracks in SoCal. Do all the math you want and thanks for letting me know about how close you and the bridge are, but the fact is, that bridge is too close to the track. I was under the support, where the hay bales are in the pic below, and they take that turn wide, so they are set up on the outside right next to the support. They didn't really have a choice, cause in typical Glen Helen fashion, they over watered and they there was a mud hole in the center botttom of the turn. Here is the pic, you can honestly say you can't picture someone hitting that support? Hell they have hay bales surrounding it, someone must of thought it was a possibility to hit it.

Don't they split up practices? 20/20/20 at least?

15/15/15/15 is about the reasonablest that I like.

Hell, Dade City does 10/10/10/10/10/10/'s - I quit going when the track time gets that short.

Like I said it was second hand info that I got over a cell phone that was cutting out from someone that was at the track.

I just hope that GL is not hurt too bad and has a speedy recovery.
