I see in some photos in the Pit Bits section that Kyle Peters was not running the Hoosier front tire. I thought Phoenix Racing was sponsored by Hoosier.

Better yet, are their riders OK? Kyle DNS all motos, and Jace got landed on, looked like a hand/wrist injury.

If sponsors are giving $$ and product then I would think the team is contracted to use the product. Would FOX care if Roczen was not wearing their gear?

Sponsor products being repackaged isn't unusual

You think Pro Circuit actually used Peak Antifreeze or SplitFire plugs?

You know how many guys have been running Renthal Twinwalls over the years with different MFGs bar pads?

Sssshhhtt! The only thing that is really important is that Kyle Peters gets better results on his private Honda then last year on that JGR Suzuki.

Kyle has a pretty okay mechanic, even if he does have too many double letters in his last name. This is when he pulled off the track in the first moto.

On Honda RC was sponsored by Dunlop and “allegedly” ran Bridgestones. It happens.

Energy drink guys are drinking water

It is interesting he wasn’t running a Hoosier though, I didn’t catch that

We've built a lot of suspension over the years for guys who pay for it so they can put other guys' stickers on it. Sometimes we can even talk about it, like right now when Cade Clason doesn't have any stickers on his forks or last summer when Mike Alessi had none on his.

While it's not uncommon, it's up to a team to do the best for their sponsors if they want to keep them. I also suggest teams pick sponsors to work with that have products that they believe in to avoid this. It's so hard for a lot of these private teams, do you take the guy with the money or the good product? Without the money, it's hard to get the good rider and without the good products it's also hard to get the good rider. The guys with the good products know it and don't necessarily have to give you the money.

What's interesting to me about this is I work with a lot of riders on Hoosier's who absolutely love them. Perhaps it was Kyle looking for a feel or testing something.

A sponsor doesn't really care about insiders that 'know'. Its about what it 'looks' like to all the ones about to spend the coin. I bet a 'lousy' product would actually support someone who used a superior product, as long as it 'fooled' the masses into buying the lesser offering.

Surprising they didn’t atleast stamp the side walls to say “Hoosier” in white.
