Ken Roczen Portrait

Edited Date/Time 10/26/2012 12:58pm
Just thought I'd share a portrait I did in the lead up to the Des Nations. With a lot of time to spare due to a broken foot I thought I'd crack out the pencils and give my 1st attempt at a portrait my best shot. I spent around 10 hours on the piece and then an extra 4/5 making small adjustments.

I got the A3 sketch stretched onto an A2 canvas and managed to get Kenny to sign it as well as giving him a print on canvas for him to keep.

that is awesome, way cool you gave him a print as well. Kenny is one of my favorite riders.

only criticism i have is you could have maybe spent a little more time on the upper lip...

this one took me like 3 hours to finish the shading on the upper lip.

Meg is going to be so pissed to know that while she's out busting her ass working, your sketching the ladies at the homeless shelter.....but then again, by the look of Trisha's face, I'm glad you didn't do the full frontal nudy thing......

There are more techniques (grid method, carbon paper transfer) drawing & painting is craftmanship
View the final result, who cares what kind of techniques carpenter uses
