It was a semi win, not sure what the whole fuss is about.

Pit Row
tearful mental breakdowns over a heat win not so much.
1. This is his hometown race, he likely has a lot of folks in the stands screaming for him.
2. There is a chance this may be his last heat win and hurrah on a bike of this caliber ~ get it while the getting is good.
Anybody who celebrates a heat win like it is a main is a goon and not too common. I think given the circumstances though it wasn't all that bad right?
5.2(h) is the exception for 250 riders riding the other coast for 450 experience.
So wait a minute. Were the rules different for when Hanny dropped down, that didn't seem that long ago!
I have no idea what Hilly's results have been like, I assume he can't tho if those rule are in effect. It's top 20 for one of those last 3 years right, not consecutive?
To complete the rebuilding process he needs to race the outdoor series and show something there in my opinion and maybe he will get a decent ride next year.
He moved up from 250's very fast and it looked like a good move until the backflip deal. If he could pull a Grant Langston and grab a PC bike in the 250 class would be interesting but he probably isn't eligible or wouldn't want to. Maybe he will find a decent 450 ride for SX anyways.
