More like "drop the ball". I am a fan of JS but he is no longer the man to beat. RV looked downright unreal. Major props to him.

JS, on the other hand, is just frustrating with me with all these crashes. I am sick of him proving all his haters right. He looked like he had no heart out there until Dungey bobbled or whatever and he got by and then Reed had a problem. But once he got some fight back in him, he goes and crashes....into a San Manuel Band of Mission Native American Tribespeople Indian Casino and rips his unobtainable and custom made carbon-fiber radiator shroud off of the one-off NASCAR gas tank that allowed him to get so far forward on the bike that he managed to nose dive right into a table.

During that race, my support for JS just sank like the Titanic. I'm no longer a believer. Sorry dude, but you need to pick the mic back up and apologize to RV for trying to imply you would beat him.

I am pumped for Dungey and his entire team for bringing KTM their first 450 podium. I found myself rooting for RD as he was in third and then I was pissed when JS got by him.

Great ride by CR too. The guy is always solid. A "professional racer" if ever there was one.

Wasn't that bad. He made an error-it happens. Could of very well ended up second. The start was the key tonight. It's a long season and too soon to start bashing Stewie.

Don't think Stewart dropped the ball or is washed up. JGR Better build a more durable bike. It didn't even look like Stewart fell that hard on a tuff block and that thing was mangled.

Stewart hasn't been the same since he dropped Aldon Baker. He still kills it in Heat Races and Qualifying, but when it comes to Main Events, he seems to make more mistakes than ever. When the heart rate is spiking high and the pressure is at peak, fitness is going to make a huge impact on the riders ability to stay consistant and calm. IMHO I think Stewart doesn't push his training like he should because he is so egotistical about how good he is.

Just MHO.

I agree. I think this really may be the case. After his heat, he had shnot running out of his nose and was all sweated up while the others looked like they hadn't ridden a lap in their post-race interviews. I wonder if he trains at all or just rides? Maybe he has too many people telling him "you look great champ". Even in his many released videos it appears he is bored whether wheelying through the whoops and tweeting it, or doing a quad+1(never understood the +1), it always seems like he is interested in something other than hammering laps.

I also found it interesting that he was munching on a big plate of fries a few days ago at that fan dinner he had. While Aldon probably had RV out in the yard eating some crab grass, pebbles and twigs.

But just wait until they rotate that motor another 2mm farther forward and build him a carbon fiber helmet visor. Then it's on.

When that shroud peeled off it reminded me of a truck race.Tongue Must be really trying to lighten up that bike with thin shrouds and light weak fasteners.

Agreed. There's a learning curve there, applying their NASCAR technology to MX. MX necessitates building things a little more robustly than they're used to, probably.

I have to agree (even as a huge fan), train more and do more starts.

If it was like NASCAR, he would have pulled into the pits to have them duct tape it back on..... Grinning

I must say that I think Gibbs and the NASCAR influence is what had James smiling and talking about his result in a good natured way right after the race. When have we seen that from him lately? I think that was a Gibbs mandate.

I like JS, but he really hasn't raced much in the last two or three years and the competition is catching up to his speed.

His last SX title came right after the last time he rode outdoors. Coincidence?

Losing Aldon not only perhaps made JS weaker, and even if it didn't, it has made RV even stronger....

Ding Ding Ding, We have ourselves a winner Ladies & Gentlemen...

I agree 100%, champion ships are about training and fitness when you get to this level
of speed and ability, there are 7-8 guys that are working to win, they are fast enough and talented
enough, the bikes are amazing so it comes down to mental strength and fitness. Stewarts whole
Riding laps at me track is my workout will not cut it at this level...
