I have really pulled for Dungey for a long time, but man that heat he just ran was absolutely pathetic. I know he rides amazing and better than I ever could, but c'mon. He was going fast and then just stopped once he couldn't pass Reed. I just don't think I can be a fan any more after this. I hope he proves me wrong in the main, but I just can't take it any more.

Been on the RD bandwagon since his 250 days. It's getting old seeing him be ok with not winning. I'm putting on my shoes and getting ready to step off this wagon. Year after year I keep hoping to see a new fire but every year it's the same. I guess a leopard cannot change its spots.

Rd doesn't need to ride on full kill to win.

He's much better in longer races and he's a championship player not a heat racer

For being a past champion, he did not get any "hype" from the media (or Vitards).

Including me, I guessed he would be about 5-7th places.

He proved almost everyone wrong with a strong ride, showing the consistency can pay off. Good ride, and great night for KTM with both mains and 3 podiums.

Dunge being Dunge. Steady, reliable, fast. And can't we all move on from the "KTM" thing?

Best American, really, what you smoking crack. RV and James will hand Dungey his ass any day of the week. Put a little gel on it next time ''Pops'' just to make the transition a little smoother.

who cares? the OP was saying he doesn't like his style...and many are agreeing. Who wants to watch a guy win simply because he makes the fewest mistakes. that sounds boring. Dungey is boring. I'm done rooting for him as well.

Im surprised how much hate the dunge receives.

Out of all the contenders dungey's techinque is the best. He's always in control. Yes he may not hang it out like Rv or stewy, but look where it got him tonight…

Dungey will always be right their.

I can't believe some of slack he gets from you vital. He has one bad race (MXON) and everyone thinks he is done.

Wow, what a bunch of fickle race fans. He set a couple of the fastest lap times in the main and ran down Kenny to within a couple of seconds. Another five laps and .......... anyway, the Dunge will be there in the end. And I hope Stewie's not hurt.

He's a great rider. His achievements are even more impressive considering he has the worst heads-up duelling skills of anyone with an AMA Pro card.

according to that logic, we should just all be fans of Villopoto, becasue he is clearly the best out there and will continue to win the most.

I root for guys because of their personality, on and off the track. Yeah, Dungey is amazing at piloting a motorcycle, and he is a nice guy, a guy you want to root for. But his racecraft is lacking. You act like no one else ever says that about him. EVERYONE, even a lot of his fans say that about him. You can't deny it.

His personality holds his racecraft back, as far as I'm concerned. I don't care how much he does or doesn't win. If you want to root for him by all means... the real question is why some of you feel the need to defend him. Pretty sure he doesn't need your help.

Yes Ryan did get 2nd, great ride, but lets be honest with ourselves here. He started off 6th, passed Brayton and Grant, and then got gifts from RV and Stew before getting Reed. Yes he got 2nd but it was mainly thru attrition. I am a huge fan of his but he has got to start riding with some fire. I was actually excited when he went foot off the pegs when he was right behind Chad, it showed that he was stepping out of the zone a bit.

Last time I checked they don't deduct positions just because you rode a boring, calm, race. Ask 7 and 1 what they deduct positions for....geez.

Hold on man.....I thought you said you "cared more about racing than who wins"....at least when it comes to a pass for the win anyway.

Why do you feel differently about this?
Dungey had a good race....just didn't win.

this is a philosophical discussion about being a fan of Dungey's.

this isnt about how "good" Dungey is, or how much he wins or how many championships he'll win. If that was the case, every single person in the world would just be a fan of RC4, exclusively. there'd be no reason to be a fan of anyone else. would there?

If you like Dungey thats great. But, please tell me why you feel like you have to defend him? I just don't understand why he needs you to defend him.

well I feel differently because I though at some point, Dungey's competition would force him to be more aggressive. He's twice (that might be stretching it, but...) the motorcycle rider RV2 is, but he will never beat RV in a championship, all other things being equal, without upping his aggression and intensity levels.

I lost interest in rooting for him. I'm not hating. I just don't want to consider myself a race fan of his anymore. Please enlighten me as to why or how that makes me something.
