I'm a fan of Dean Wilson and Daytona was both good and bad. Overall I think he did pretty good holding off Stewart in the heat race, but I hated to see him fade like a cheap suit late in the race and drop to 7th at the end, letting guys like Short and Hahn past him.
Not sure what the cause was, maybe Ryno's program isn't all that good after all? No one being trained by Baker fades like that , that's for sure...

Looks like his number is wrong
Nothing to do with Ryno's program. He's battled this problem before. Hopefully he can figure out why it's happening. Nerves? Breathing? Mental?
Arm pump is crazy. Some riders get it, some don't. Some struggle with it and then it disappears all on its own.
If you look at the positives his starts were solid and he held off some big names for 15 laps. Solid performance and he will get better he has a ton of talent imo
I think, "Winning heat race and being interviewed wearing a Discount Tire hat".....and I also remember him holding off past SX champ Dungey for a loooooong time in the main.
Thats the impresion Dean Wilson left on me from last weeks race.

Maybe he got tired, then got pumped up because he was holding on harder with his hands rather than legs.
Plus anybody who has raced will understand that you can mentally exhaust yourself when your in a big race and doing better then you expected
he'll get there especially under chad's guidance
The word "exacerbate" means "to worsen". . .
Has Dean ever raced Daytona? I'm bad about remembering which coast these 250 riders race and what seasons. . .
Pit Row
He also got his starts dialed (Thank You Micheal Byrne!) and he's simply got to get some more time on the 450 and learn how to stay "strong" for TWENTY LAPS (on a 450).
He's obviously got the potential and ability to run at the front...from here on out it's like Big James says: "Baby Steps, man. Baby steps."
The West-Coast is gonna get Interesting when he get's back there on his "toy 250", that's for sure. Same goes for Mookie.
everyone talking shit on him for fading is fucking clueless.
After training for years for a certain length of race, I think Dean did awesome!!! Definitely has the speed to run with anybody!
Daytona is a different animal he was clearly on the gas and looked good..Even the 450 vets get tired on that track so fading is part of the game Daytona....We'll have to see how he does in upcoming weeks...He is riding on the high of being on his buddies team with no pressure and to get time on the bike.....
Really shocked with Dean's starts. He was on par all night.
