I'm sorry, but every year he bulldogs his way to the front of the podium. Let the 3 riders take center stage. Congrats of course, all the way around to the whole team.

And would the Germans have won if RD was the manager of their team?

Roger is a "very" good team manager, but he isn't some type of magical person that has the ability to win with out the talent to do so..

Roger plays a part in todays win, but they could have won, with or with out him.

Roger's the "Hood Ornament" for Team USA!
Is he deserving......yes, to some extent, key words, some extent!
I happen to know that Mitch Payton deserves a huge spot on that hood too, maybe more!
But politics etc., rule the show!

It's not a matter if one of the riders bitch about it or not. It's a matter of the fact that Roger is larger than life to some on these boards.

I think he's a very good team manager, but do your research and check out his batting average.

He's not some type of David Copperfield.

Mitch has a much better batting average than Roger.

Mitch isn't "The Man" as some that live in the past want to believe.

Again, I think Roger is a very good team manager. Just not good enough to win with out the right riders.

No team manager could win without the riders, but a good manager knows how to select the right team and prepare them mentality and to let them know what to expect from their competitors, i believe Roger has done that, what more can the guy do?

These comments just show your lack of respect and understanding of just how much Roger has been the Rock on which Team USA has built a 21 year legacy!

Actually, he's helped elevate the entire sport, not just in the US.

How much pull does Mitch have over in Europe-none! Big diffrence in dominating the Lites class that you sole focus. Roger know's the in's and out's of GP racing and we wouldn't have won in 1981/82. Who's know's when we would have started racing the Moto/Trophee Des Nations if not for Roger. If people knew the history of Team USA and MX this wouldn't even be a question!

Last year was Tedesco I believe and I know he got Ferry as well a few years back. I'm not knocking anything else about him or the team and congrats all around, including Mitch and others that might go unmentioned.

Jmar doesn't watch fox news, and jmar hates the "we are the best" mullet mentality that the Americans seem to get every year when this race comes around.

Jmar is a fan of the sport and doesn't give two shits about what country a rider is from.

Nostalgia is over rated, and I prefer to live in the present, not the past.

Just because I am not going to fall all over my self over "the man" doesn't mean that I don't have respect for him. It just means that I am not blinded by the past.

Like I have said, Roger is a very good team manager, but his batting average isn't as good as some of you want to believe.

I agree with your original point but of course it has to digress into a discussion about DeCoster's value to his teams.

Yea, I'm not going to touch any of that. That's a new topic IMO. I'm just glad I wasn't the only one to see it that way and even then, it's nothing serious. A serious offense would be when I saw "the man" smoking pot with J-Law and RC that one time.

Yep, Roger has made some great decisions and helped the sport evolve in this country in more then one way.

He has went to to bat not only for the best riders/racers in the sport at the pro level, but also to make sure Suzuki had a successful amateur program.

He has done alot over the years for American Motocross.

Again, I think Roger is a very good team manager. Just not good enough to win with out the right riders.
Possibly the stupidest post you've ever posted and you have had some whoppers. How could anyone win without the right riders. Step back for a minute and re-read what you just wrote. If you can't see the stupidity in the last sentence than no one can possibly point it out to you. What is this "batting average" you speak of? You do know this isn't baseball don't you? From the wording of this post I'm not so sure you do. Not only is the man a "past" champion but he's also a current day champion. That's why he's the MAN and why he continually signs the best riders the sport has to offer. Do you really think RC and RD would have signed with Suzy if it wasn't for Roger? I will stop now as I doubt anything that is written will be understood. Buh-Bye.

So, maybe we should now start arguing over whether European or American team mangers are the best?
