Carey, Kenny and Kawi

Edited Date/Time 1/27/2012 2:40pm
Matthes posted something saying Kawi wanted to talk to Hart & Huntington. I sure hope Kawi is going to give them more support. I can't believe that they wouldn't want to be associated with Carey's team (and Dodge). And I can't believe they endangered their relationship with Mitch with the FMF deal.

I'd love to see H&H talk Dodge into letting them run Hondas. Then H&H could pull Chad and 22 motorsports into their camp, and get Mitch to support it all as he switched his team to Honda. Mitch runs the 250 and H&H runs the 450s. I'd love to see it.

They can't go with Honda or Suzuki due to conflict of interest with Dodge.

Maybe they are looking to borrow Ivan for a few rounds until Weimer comes back?

I say its more along the lines of Kenny bashing the shit out of them on pulpmx every show except for the last one.And they let Ivan ride there track every day. Also something was stated in the last podcast that they had to list Kawi on the SX program as there bike sponsor as they currently did not. Only H&H Dodge Motorsports? But im only speculating who knows?

Kawasaki wants to "clarify" the "relationship" between themselves and H & H. Kenny did some serious back-peddling on the last PulpMX show.

Yeah, Brian, I caught the conflict of interest deal. That's why I said that they'd have to talk Dodge into it. I think it'd be in Dodge's best interest since they'd get better equipment (presumably) and CR22. And, they don't sell Dodge motorcycles. Honda's only "truck" isn't really a truck. So, a nice Honda in the bed of a Dodge looks just fine to me. Maybe this would be Honda's way out of the factory racing game.

Vegas711, I'd love to call in but domestic duties means I'll be getting my kids ready for bed. I can't catch the show until the next morning's commute.

And, Raceguy: I heard Kenny's backpedaling, but I don't think he should be the one having to do that. We all know that Kenny speaks from the heart (and maybe not always from his brain). That tells me that Kawi really isn't supporting them in any tangible way. So screw 'em. The Pro Circuit deal was just another sign that they don't always treat their business partners well. I can't wait to hear what they say tomorrow night. Of course, they might have Kenny on lockdown so maybe we'll just hear the same backpedaling bullshit. Kawi would be smart to give them bikes, transmissions and anything else they need. We might have to wait until next year to see what really goes down.

I guess the other piece to the puzzle would have to be another sponsor (at least if we involve Mitch in this theory). Unless Mitch can pull Monster with him instead of Kawi. Or maybe it'd just be an H&H deal only. I'd love to see the Pro Circuit Honda squad (again) parking next to the H&H/Dodge/22 Motorsports 450 effort. Fun to think about the possibilities...

Watson didnt backpedal. All he did was acknowledge they dont support the team at all, but they do let them ride the track.

So by the way you guys are talking about the Mitch / Kawi issue - MItch will have his team on diferent bikes next year? How long is the contract with Kawi?

I like the shake up.

Better go back to the archives and listen again.

Call it what you want - to steal a hockey phrase, he was doing some serious stick-handling. (not that there's anything wrong with that ...)

I own a Ridgeline and would like to know how it is not really a truck? Way more practical and better hauling shit to races than any of the large domestic trucks I've owned...

Are you serious? You really need the differences pointed out to you? You of all people should know if you bought one.

Well, alright, lilibuild. I guess I just feel like Honda doesn't sell too many (at least at the places I've been to) so I don't see it as a great competitor. Certainly must be a different volume than Toyota.

Great question on the contract, Spat24. I don't know about that one. Just thinking in the abstract. Mitch couldn't be too psyched about that treatment and he's done so much for Kawasaki. On the other hand, he is a great business man, so one shouldn't let emotions get in the way of business.

There are tons of them here, and actually hard to come by if trying to buy used, which to me is always a good sign.. But you are correct they don't exactly sell well all other places, but they are great trucks, will admit maybe not the best looking

if you buy your own bikes.... you dont have to list the manufacturer as a sponsor.

In a nutshell, as explained by KDub on the show..

Kawy wouldnt give them anything, and didnt want to have anything to do with H&H
Dodge came on board, offered alot of things for kawi to be able to do, (see first show) and kawi pretty much said no.
Kawi doesnt pay a dime to H&H, Kawi doesnt give anything to H&H, and Kawi up as far as I have heard to date, has flat out refused to have anything to do with Dodge, H&H.

Now, ivan at their track... not sure. Last I was told hes in LV every week riding. Maybe we will find out tomorrow night. 9pm EST Live on www.PulpMX.com

So is fisher the guy that is not giving them support or does it go higher up than that? I would say the more kawis up front the better, especially with weimer out but they probably said no to helping out h&h before he was injured.

Why would they go to honda? They wont even support reed with anything more than riding their test track and selling him their factory tranny so i dont see them giving h&h anything more than that either. I would say a Suzuki is a better sx bike than the honda but they are also in the auto market so that wouldn't fly either.

H&H is sponsored by Dodge motorsports, in particular the car side, not Dodge trucks

Wow that salesman really saw you coming.

Your Ridgeline is unibody. Trucks have a frame.

Your Ridgeline is front wheel drive. Trucks are rear wheel drive.

Your Ridgeline has a 5' box. Escalade EXT's have a bigger box than that. And they're categorized as an SUV crossover, not a truck.

Your Ridgeline is no more of a truck than this is.

Sorry to hurt your feelings but I'm sure most people agree. The Ridgeline isn't really a truck. Doesn't mean they are useless or shitty, just different.

Ivan riding their track is courtesy of Mitch (Ivan won a couple titles for him) and Pro Circuit which is a sponsor of the team. Kenny does not call Fish to see if Ivan can ride guaranteed.Wink

IMHO, watson should check his mouth a little bit more. Being a manager of a race team, and bagging on Kawasaki like he does, is not smart. People hold grudges, and with the economy the way it is, teams need all the money and sponsors they can get in this sport.

You are seriously an idiot.
The frame and body are two seperate parts of a vehicle period
It is unibody which makes it handle 10 times better, oh yeah and the frame that it has is fully boxed which all the larger trucks brag so much about
And it is not front wheel drive you nimrod, its full time all wheel drive
I have the title, I know exactly what it says, technically it is Pickup Truck
Escalade EXT, Avalanche, there is a category most call Sport Utility Truck, but Truck none the less and would say just the same on the title... They have a bigger box because they are bigger trucks, just like any other two diffrent sizes of trucks.
Man you're trying really hard, I guess to make yourself look stupid, how about you check your facts next time before you try and tell someone who owns something you know nothing about what it is and what it has. But hey, can't even say I appreciate the effort, because obviously there wasn't much there. You're like that guy thats gonna tell me how underpowered or crappy a certain model bike is which have never even ridden one yourself... Man I can't stand "that guy"
