Bummer is, now us old-timers don’t get to say “Back in my day, we raced in all conditions, these kids today, blah blah blah”

We are definitely tougher than the older generation was/is. Now our grandparents on the other hand were a bunch of bad asses.

My first race ever at Countyline MX in Chapmanville, PA was like that. I remember it was a whiteout during one of my motos on a 2001 YZ426F.

My first race was in 2001 and in a freak snow storm. I lost a glove, got dead last, and figured out I needed tear offs from that point forward. I was addicted.

2005 Memorial Weekend @ Spring Creek. Dirstric-23 race. Saturday practice a passing cloud came by and dumped snow for all of 2 mins. It melted right away. But me and my buddy were on the same section of track before the Collar Bone and we both stopped to look at each other. "What is happening?" It was funny. Then snowed on Sunday in the morning again. nothing stuck.

Gotta disagree man. Maybe your area is different, but here there's no way that is even close to true. At minimum, 60% of guys I went to school with don't know how to even use a wrench. They think yelling at the teenage girl working at Starbucks that mistakenly added too much ice to their iced latte makes them a badass.

Haven't been there since around 1999. It was a spring race as well, freezing rain and it was a packed program. I was the last race in the program, and they were cutting laps to fit everything in. I left after my fiirst moto, me and the wife were sitting in my pickup trying to warm up and we said screw it and left. First and only time I ever missed 2nd moto.

Does log road still have the sign-up trailer with holes in the floor? lol

They now have a walk-up sign-up booth. It's pretty nice, you stand outside on dirt. Make sure you bring an extra $20 or whatever and get a T-Shirt from them. I think every year I go I get a shirt lol. Log Road seems very organized and the track is always great. I've only been 4 times but each time was enjoyable.

Motor homes and fun movers aren't tough. Lots of those in the pits these days.
Do you prefer horse and buggy? There were plenty of motor homes around in the 80s and 90s as well…

No dork, not Amish, so no horse and buggy. There were definitely not plenty of those in the 80s and 90s. You must have been in a different universe.
