If you read up on the differences between the two shell types, sometimes the poly is better. But its just like the neck brace debate - in some situations the fiberglass/carbon is better, and in others the poly is better.

The Shop
Comes back to truck whole front both sides of his MX9 are cracked / broken.
Honestly that alone kind of makes me not even want to buy a high end Bell helmet, yeah the MX9 is cheaper but still being a Bell product I figured it would be better quality then that.
If the helmet breaks, that means it absorbed the impact, and not your head.
If you go around wearing the hardest helmet you can find, that means the helmet is translating that impact directly into your head.
Helmets are a one and done system. If you hit hard, it needs to be replaced.
We have an "it broke so it's junk" mentality rather than an "it broke, it worked awesome" one.
Your post is right on!

Stewart's crash at A1 didn't look that bad, but there's no doubt that he hit his head hard enough to sustain damage.
Not all crashes are as they look. I've seen "minor" crashes cause major damage. And "major" crashes cause no damage.
Shane
Other than that I don't know any difference.
