Crashed at a practice track today, looks to have a broken neck and back...and yes he was wearing a Leatt.

I think a little more information about the conditoin of Brandon may have been in order before you post things like "looks to have".
Brandon Mays suffered a pretty serious practice crash today. He has 100% feeling in all of his body, and despite having to receive surgery, he will have a 100% recovery. Our best goes out to Brandon and the Mays Family.
Also
Unfortunately, more on the injured list.
Dean Wilson suffered a dislocated hip earlier in the week, and looks as if he will be out for about 3 months.
These kids are really pushing it now days and more and more major injuries are happening, it's very sad.

Hope he heals up well as expected.

What does a 4stroke have to do with swapping out in the whoops
I'm glad he was wearing the Leatt. That's two C-spine breaks that I know of where a rider was wearing the Leatt, and had 100% feeling after the crash, and are diagnosed to make a full recovery! Quinten Bigelow is the other, he crashed hard at the Mini-O's. The Leatt may not stop all of the fractures from occuring, but it apparently is helping disperse the force enough to stop cord damage and that is what causes paralysis!!!
kawa38, was he at MTF or one of the other local tracks?

Not arguing, just asking, but how often did we hear of broken necks and backs before the Leatt?

Not arguing? Why else would you put up a post like this then? Give it up man, they work.
For the record though, if you ever decide to ride again, I support your right to stick your head in the sand (or elsewhere) and not wear one.
Point to my question was/is, do we seem to hear about more of these types of injuries recently?
Is it due to people being more aware or conscience of it or is it happening more often?
Sorry to disappoint those of you who thought otherwise.
