Dude you have to be joking. A 500 2 stroke will last so much longer than a 450F it isn't even funny. Seriously. A crank on a 500 2 stroke will last atleast 10 times as long as a 450F. Its looks like a 1997 Yamaha with a Maico 500 motor and some leftover plastics from other companies. Just looks way outdated.

I think it looks ancient! Sorry. Kickstarter on the left... didn't that go out the window with the '83 CR 420? And the swingarm looks hideous!!! Seriously. Not to mention the mid 90's shaped seat. When was the last time you saw a pipe and silencer on the left side of the bike on a 2 stroke?

This is a 500, so that means 2001 was the last year Honda made one. It was also the same bike from 1990, with little changes until it's end in 01. U guys have to also understand, this is a hand made bike. It isn't a production line big 4 deal.

Im not saying the motors not fast but with the mid 1990 ergos and the shock that came straight from 1992 it cant handle like any of the new model bikes.

Youre right, the bike isnt like the Japanese bikes , so it has to be junk. A hideous looking swingarm just wont do, we need attractive swingarms! And seat shape definately is the deciding factor when I buy a good bike, I learned that on Thumpertalk! It will definately need to have some anodized billet stuff on it also. Bling matters!

Dammit Maico, cant you just assimilate already? Jeeeez

I was joking, way to come to a logical conclusion.

My point is that all you see on Vital is people whining about the cost of 4 Strokes. But when a "real quality" 2 stroke comes along, it is actually more expensive than a 4 stroke. Remember these 4 strokes are getting tons and tons of money poured into their development, this bike hasn't see any new development since the mid 90's, but still costs more. OMG, they added a linkage this year!.. I just don't see that costing all too much money to develop at this point in time. I've heard they cost $10,000. So where exactly does the extra $2,000 come from? Half the bike is built from left over parts from the big 5...

I recently had my 4 stroke break down. The needle broke. Please someone tell me that the needle for a 4 stroke costs more than for a 2 stroke.

For the 2009 they were claiming 101 kg for the 700 and 98 kg for the 250 & 320

This year should be lighter with the new swingarm and the aluminum rear subframe.

(that's 215 lbs and 222 lbs for you metrically-challenged)

There isn't a US importer yet, so that could be you Racer92!
