If the conditions are dry for the start they can choose what tire to start on. This weekend they can choose between the hard (prime) or the medium (option) compound tire. Pirelli brings 2 compounds to each race and it just depends on the track's abrasiveness as to how grippy of tires they bring. They make a total 4 different...

They are super trick...it just goes to show you how much money is in F1. McLaren has like $3000 just in fans! Ridiculous. Ferrari only goes with the conventional fans...low budget team

I just found on the F1 site where it will convert the times to your location... pretty handy little deal. I was thinking Malaysia was around the same time as Australia, which sucks because on the east coast I have to get up at 2 a.m. to watch the race.

Jensen says his tires are "destroyed" after 3 laps...these first laps could be interesting on full fuel load with worn super softs. I look for Hulkenberg or someone starting lower than 10th to lead a few laps on the prime tire. Going to be a good one to watch as more rain is in the forecast.

And it seems as if the live timing link on the F1 website is up and running so we can follow along on there as well. It's looking like the rain is coming too! Could get interesting.

Scottie thanks for the updates as I went to bed after P1. Looks as if Adrian Newey and the boys have it figured out...AGAIN! I was curious to see how the super softs would work. Seems like they aren't lasting long. Should make for some interesting strategy come Q3 and what to start on for the race!

Seems like the Red Bull guys still have it together even after having to change their front wing design. I would say P2 is going to tell the true story as to where everyone is at. Top 5 only separated by 0.4 seconds. Hopefully it's like this all year!
