Tough day at the races and not much to show of it! My track position from early on in qualifying really set the tone for the day and it’s pretty evident! I got swallowed up on both starts and it was really hard to pass today and that made for a long two motos! Some good takeaways from today and some things we can fix for next weekend to put ourselves in a better position. First rule of riding your dirt bike, don't over think it. 2nd rule, don't even think about it. Our time comes regardless of what we think. It is tough, but you'll diminish your fun and joy quotient!

8/19/2024 10:43pm I had a 04, was an awesome bike, but always fought a headshake issue with it. Alot of times i felt like it went where it wanted, if you fought it, it would fight you back

Sometimes I feel like that but then I hop on my 125 and everything from the sound, maneuverability, and just how much fun it is to ride it WFO immediately make me forget about another bike. Maybe 4 strokes just don’t get me going as much as some.

I always thought a mini super charger should replace the air filter . Controlled by a throttle position Sensor. Why rely on dead air. We designed stuff at the pipeline co that makes a 85 works Honda look like a middle school kids project. Mini sprint cars use cr500 engines not radical porting , 90-95 hp.

I see what your "question" is now. You're asking what was the reason for the 4 stroke takeover? Yes it was because the AMA didn't think 4 strokes could be manufactured to be light enough or make enough power to beat a 2 stroke even with double the CC's. Well they've admitted they fkd up big time. So yes the rules in place paved the way for 4 strokes. But also Yamaha decided to put a lot of R&D into making a competitive 250F because of those rules. And once they were mopping up every holeshot all the other Manufacturers...

8/18/2024 3:12pm The irony in Yamaha capitalizing on the 4-stroke, and the fact that they are still making and profiting from 2 strokes is amazing. The other 3 dropped out...... Especially when you add in, they went unchanged vitually for over a decade...
