TKF Racing Started a new thread clicking noise after replacing piston

12/11/2012 12:17pm
Hi, We just replaced the piston on my son's 2007 honda cr85 and now there is a clicking noise when it runs. Here is the entire story line: We put the new piston in, but heard the clicking noise so we thought the ring might not have been in quite right so we took it back apart and checked. It...

TKF Racing Started a new thread 09 ktm 125sx or 2010 yz125

10/18/2012 6:57pm
My son is just about out of his cr85. He has ridden his friends cr125 and is definitely ready to make the leap. I was looking for some opinions as to which bike may be better. The KTM is a 2009 (leftover, new at dealer) , but I don't think the technology has changed that much. He would like a...

TKF Racing Added a reply to 09 ktm 125sx or 2010 yz125

Taylorsurf: He is about 5'8 now and is really comfortable on it. This is his third year and probably his last on this bike. Just remember, there is more to selecting a bike than size and weight. It took him a couple of months to really go from his 85 to 125, but once he learned how to handle the...

TKF Racing Started a new thread Mouting Decals

3/15/2012 2:02pm
I just got number decals for my sons 2009 KTM 125SX. I had them mounted by Decal Works, but the back is split between the rear fender and the side piece. The rear fender piece is mounted but we need to mount the small separate piece. Sorry if this is confusing, but I don't know how else to explain it...

TKF Racing Started a new thread 1st thing to start with

1/27/2012 8:44am
Hi, My son is becoming a pretty good rider, but is not quite in the top tier at the tracks we race. Everything on his bike is stock. Every one at the track tells me that either a muffler or a pipe would help him out quite a bit. My questions are: 1. Does it matter which I get first...

TKF Racing Started a new thread stripped oild check hole

1/26/2012 3:43pm
Hi, The insert where my son's oil check bolt goes is stripped. Do you think it is a good idea to try and tap it out while the case is together. I am afraid of getting one small shaving in there then ruining the engine. I am debating whether to try and tap it out slowly then drain and add...

My son is really starting to get into the mechanics of the bike and after each race/practice he wants to take both wheels off, clean the brakes, chain, etc., all the plastic comes off and so on. My son's fork has been leaking fork oil all week. I have tried moving the dust seal and cleaning it off, but when I push down on the bars, it is still leaking. I would like to change the fork seal (with the help of a friend). Are there any special tools needed for this and is it overly difficult...

TKF Racing Started a new thread Bike Washing question

1/22/2012 6:11pm
I saw in the video how he lays his bike down to wash under the front fender and underneath the frame. Is there any way to do this with out running the bike of gas? I was told it is not good to lay it down if there is still gas in it. It seems like a waste of gas...

I don't want to hijack this, but I have a question on the KTM warranty for you Aussie (or any one else who may be able to answer this). We bought my son a left over 2009 125 at the beginning of this year. He was not putting the air filter back on correctly and a bunch of dirt got...
