soxh8ter44 Started a new thread Build info on 1982/83 YZ100
4/2/2021 12:40pm Hi, I am building a YZ100 and have the it175 swing arm upgrade for it. I have been told you can use YZ250 forks, hubs, and triple clamp for the 100 build to give it a way better suspension. Would the swing arm for the it175 still be compatible if I did that?

3/9/2021 5:34pm With the 38mm, I went with standard YZ conical hub along with the DLS front brake setup. Worked great!!

3/5/2021 11:58am Hey thanks, I appreciate it! Do you mind if I ask what hubs you used?

3/5/2021 11:55am I used the aluminum it swinger along with 1979 250 38mm forks and triples Other years would work as well, all bolt-in with no problems. I wouldn't go with 43's. More weight on the front-end. another tip is don't go overboard on front suspension travel. You don't want it to handle like a chopper. Keep the travel conservative and it will corner best.

2/25/2021 9:09pm Anyone ever try modern forks and triple clamp on this bike? I know you can put up to YZ490 forks and hubs on the bike in conjunction with an it175 swing arm. Just wondering if there is a compatible modern triple and forks that will work.

2/17/2021 6:39pm Here's mine, built by Paul Johnstone (see reply above) and ridden by some guy named Jeff Stanton at the Daytona Vintage event. He'll be on it again this year, destroying much larger displacement bikes, lol!

2/13/2021 2:56pm Still a good bit floating around especially here in Texas with so many guys like myself with multiple bikes and parts bikes. Ebay is still a good source. Brad and Eric Harvey at Nor Cal Vintage Racing is a great source with lots of yz100 experience. Also Robert Fish up in Washington has a ton of Yamaha stuff and if he doesn't have it he can make. Paul Johnston still in Cali still builds a good many bikes and I'm sure has access to lots of parts. When you find one you have to move fast. Good luck!
