With the 38mm, I went with standard YZ conical hub along with the DLS front brake setup. Worked great!!

I used the aluminum it swinger along with 1979 250 38mm forks and triples Other years would work as well, all bolt-in with no problems. I wouldn't go with 43's. More weight on the front-end. another tip is don't go overboard on front suspension travel. ... more »

Nicely done Mx! Are you going to Donie for the TVRC race Sunday?

I'm diggin' the work on smoothing out the swingarm, adds a nice "works" look to it. Sorry but the black rims just don't do it for me. I like the old school look like on your other bikes.

If you've never used a DLS that's worth a crap, then you ridden a bike with it set-up correctly.........and it's so simple and easy to do. It works!

thanks for the replies. The cylinder is getting a sleeve. In regards to the stud issues, I could not comment on that topic over on the "G" site, as I haven't been given "permission" to do so. However, I pose this information to Mr. "Trickle".....I removed ... more »

Just acquired a YZ125G over at Diamond Dons event. Looking for a couple of things to improve. Any aftermarket footpegs that would interchange, as well as a source for a replacement exhaust pipe.

third party delays, i.e. - powder coating and rim sets. Other than that I did all the work. Covid-19, along with oil & gas crash, sent me home June 1st, so I had alot of time on my hands. The fuel tank alone had 40 hrs in prep work....filling, block

The pipe on the racer is of course an original but I plan to remove and have it repaired, getting the dents out, then adapt it to the resto bike for a TRUE and correct showroom example. Once again, thanks for the compliments.

Hey OldPro......as you noted, "have a bike to show and one to race", the owner acquired another CR when the resto got out of hand. This one has Noleen prepared suspension.

It started out to be a rider but it snowballed into this. The owner decided it was going to be too nice so it became an obsession to make it living room furniture.

pic of a CR basket with needle bearings. notice the center bore of both the XL and the CR. Look at the center steel "cogged" insert of each basket. It looks the same. The bushing seems to be the only difference between the two.

Added reply in a thread 1973 Honda Elsinore CR250M clutch basket interchange 7/2/2020 7:00 AM

yeah the MR/MT gears are not straight cut that's why I considered the XL instead. It's simpler to adapt IF the center bushing can be removed from the bore and is there is "net" diameter for the needles bearings placement and around the shaft fitment. ... more »
