7/1/2021 12:53pm He's doing well. He doesn't post here much, if any because of "admin" issues......LOL!! He's building a trick, VERY lightweight, RM Suzuki 125 right now. It's going to be one fine machine when it's done.

6/30/2021 1:58pm Never mentioned it was a LUFT. It was a clarification to a previous question about the reservoir mounting on the pre-80 models. The one pictured on my bike is a reservoir from a 1985 Honda CR500.

I made the resi straps from aluminum bar, shaped and bent around the swingarm tubing and fastened together just underneath the upper swingarm tube. 6/24/2021 1:17pm What you have noted, began on the 1980 model YZ's. Totally different frame design and monoshock than the earlier YZ's. The early YZ's didn't have a reservoir but aftermarket companies such as LUFT produced them to upgrade the stock monoshock suspension. Is it possible to adapt the aluminum swingarm and components off of a '82 YZ125 to the '82-83 YZ100?
If so, is it a straight forward bolt-on or is there more to it?

12/10/2020 6:05am I'm diggin' the work on smoothing out the swingarm, adds a nice "works" look to it. Sorry but the black rims just don't do it for me. I like the old school look like on your other bikes.

11/19/2020 8:40am If you've never used a DLS that's worth a crap, then you ridden a bike with it set-up correctly.........and it's so simple and easy to do. It works!

If the 80 YZ125 cylinder is anything like my 81 YZ465 cylinder the 8mm studs can pull out when getting torqued down. The RM and Honda ran 10mm into the cylinder and then reduced the rest of the stud to 8mm to keep them from pulling out. I just ran long helicoils in my 465 cylinder and I've also run long Timeserts in another cylinder. Just remember that if it is an 8mm diameter stud try to double its length for engagement into a helicoil or timersert as cast alum is soft as butter.
