3/6/2023 12:22pm No, just not some cheesy electricity or emissions related name. Can't wait for the Suzuki Spark, or the Kawasaki Killowatt!

3/6/2023 12:03pm All the talk about new tech in the battery bikes is a bit overstated. Brushless induction motors, apparently in the proposed Stark, are over 50 years old and are analogous to 4 valve IC cylinder heads. Honda was actually selling, rather than quacking about, thousands of their excellent XL250 4 valver in 1973. Tesla, what would they know about EV, use them for lighter duty use in the rear. Many of the Tesla front motors which have to be high duty rated are conventional wound jobs. Winding the rotors with carbon fibre or sleeving them is not high tech, its...

3/6/2023 12:02pm I just want to see one electric bike with a normal name that doesn't sound like it's the future of vacuums or something. Stark, Flux, Zero, etc.

3/6/2023 11:49am moto "media" has a relationship with these guys due to their test ride....can they not send an email and ask for an update on status? I mean, there's more and more smoke around this...does this not seem like a great interview for someone to set up? Oh moto media...

3/6/2023 11:48am This system has been applied very successfully in other sports. It completely eliminates sandbagging.

3/6/2023 11:45am Wrong. The lower classes will always be just that, lower pay, lower prestige, lower skill level, etc. Every dude in the top class will be of higher value than the guys in the lower class. Every fast guy will have the incentive to get to the top class. Like I said in either this thread or another, this system would...

3/6/2023 11:33am I completely agree with this rant. Bike advancement has been severely hampered by the restrictive rules. I don't necessarily think electric bikes are the future, but they may be if ICE bikes don't have the opportunity to develop further.

3/6/2023 11:29am Same people, same pessimism, same downvotes. Whenever I rock your little boats, you get so pissy. I just have to ask, though, for all of you who choose to perpetually light your hair on fire about the Varg, do you ever ask yourself if the old guy might have a point? Do you ever ask yourself why I am so unbothered? I mean, after all, I'm supposed to be the one clinging to the glories of the past, am I not? Well, in case you found yourself curious, here's my answer to those queries: I came of age in the...

3/6/2023 11:26am I'm referring to professional development, like moving from minor to major league in baseball. I think putting any kind of age restrictions on the racing is ridiculous. Who cares what age you are if you are fast and can win.

3/6/2023 9:14am If “old tech” will still be available people will buy it. The govt will make sure that doesn’t happen though. Harley has announced they’ll be fully battery powered by 2035. If you think Harley thinks this is a move that will increase sales or that their customer base secretly is wishing for quiet bikes that you need to recharge…..well there’s nothing else that can be said to explain this is less “evolution” and more about govt intervention.

3/6/2023 9:13am I would think the regulatory stuff, and their designs, would have been well understood and sorted before they started advertising bikes for imminent delivery.

3/6/2023 9:11am And another point, this setup would ensure that the lower tier remains 100% a development class. Having three tiers would be even better to help riders develop.

3/6/2023 9:07am Another point I wanted to add is that this type of system would also have a major impact on improving the product for the consumer. Manufacturers would be able to try setups that they are restricted from in the current system. Maybe they would realize that a 350 is the idle engine size, or that they could further develop two...

3/6/2023 9:03am I agree there needs to be more than one class if we want a good pool of talented riders to keep coming up. A dream configuration for me (but I don't have hopes of it ever happening) would be to see at least two classes, three even better, all OPEN. With each class being a different tier, riders having to...

3/6/2023 8:53am How could it not affect the amount of rides? Less rides, less mechanics? Do you think Mitch would take 6 guys out for one series? Well, that's a bad example. He might have to if he wants one of them to finish...

3/6/2023 8:51am This intrigued me but I see a few potential problems that seem rather significant, such as where do you draw the line to what is considered "factory"? Yes I know what a factory team is, but what if a privateer has an unlimited budget and engine/suspension machine shops, etc.? And what is to stop sandbagging in this arrangement? The biggest...

3/6/2023 8:45am Two strokes didn’t have this problem because most grown men were too big for a 125cc machine the 250 four stroke is plenty for a lot of different sized guys so it’s easier for older guys, taller guys, heavier guys to stick around the 250 class. Privateers will be impacted by a new structure. Maybe they need their own main event…idk
