I had the same issue putting a white Clarke tank on a 2006 YZ125 years ago. To their credit, I remember in the instructions with the tank it stating some custom pads would be needed on the aluminum frame bikes. The end result was using the larger rubber pad and not being able to hook the stock rubber tank strap...

Trust me this 1985 will have plenty of other friends to keep it company. Actually I have three KX's now and one KDX! Here's a sample of its new friends that it is parked next to. I might race this bike a little. It's nice, but not super, super nice to where it couldn't be ridden.

It's not for sale anymore...... because I bought it. You knuckleheads got me to the point I couldn't stop thinking about the damn thing, and it turns out it was only about 20 miles away from me. It's a pretty tight bike....not pristine, but very nice and you can tell it has low hours. It will have a nice home...

EXACTLY. I'm a sucker for any sweet, original bike from the 80's but the reality is that a 1985 KX125 really isn't all that interesting to me and if I bought it I would simply toss it up on the rack with several others. I already have 1986 and 1989 KX125s. At some point I feel I have to restrain...
