3/13/2026 5:50am I wouldn’t hone it. From the pictures you submitted it looks like there’s visible cross hatch. Like Motörhead said there’s a lot of controversy on honing a nikasil plated cylinder.

3/3/2026 5:38pm I don’t remember. I typically switch to my arches in the air when i know I’ve got a hard landing coming but I must not have done that in this instance otherwise I’m sure I wouldn’t have torn my Achilles. Would I have injured something else? Not sure.

2/27/2026 3:56am Update My no toil filters have been through a few cycles of bel ray oil and washing with odorless mineral spirits. Filters seem to be holding up just fine.

1/21/2026 11:24am Good points Falcon. I have ridden with 3 of my No Toil filters using Bel Ray without any problems. I have not cleaned any of them yet. I will report back once I’ve cleaned them in mineral spirits to see how they hold up.

1/12/2026 3:45am Thanks for the reply. I soaked one of my No Toil filters in Bel Ray and am letting it sit for a week before trying to ride with it. My guess is the oil won’t ruin the filter and I’ll be good to go. I’ll report back after a ride in it along with cleaning it with some mineral spirits.
