Add racer guest pit passes charge, for a grand total of pre-paid purse money. All of these nickels and dimes amount to a purse that the riders almost pay for themselves. All those guys that don’t qualify on the day, paid the same fee’s as the winner. The numbers don’t lie. This system is a cash cow, always has been.

Not 100% sure how it works. But I believe the track pays the promoter a fee to have the race. And the track takes the gate fee. I could be wrong tho. There could be percentages and stuff. Then the concession holders, beer tents etc have to pay to get a spot. Not sure if they pay the track or mx sports. And they take their profits.

I think they have a tough job. I only have experience with my own injuries and with seeing/hearing from riders who have been helped by them. I think that racing is overall safer with them around.
