My understanding is a stabilizing chemical that spoiled (maybe due to a bad storage vessel). Anyhow, a very small amount of this chemical is used in a batch of fuel, however without it the fuel spoils - this is how somebody at TD explained to me. Taking this a slightly different direction - I know tracks are already operating on a very thin margin, so upgrading in tech isn’t always desirable. That said, considering the vulnerabilities it seems like an electronic waiver system you complete once annually, and then use drivers license to check in with would be ideal. Kiddo blew a new 65 mod motor at 2 hours this weekend on a bad batch of u4.4. Can see it was detonating on the exhaust side of the piston crown, somehow cracked the rod main bearing cage, drew the shrapnel up through a transfer port and devoured the jug, piston and head… cylinder was just plated by US Chrome...

As an FYI - my son just blew a brand new 65 mod motor at 2 hours running on u4.4 with a listed batch number (with the -x). We ran the same fuel in a stock bike that presented as having a carb issue at 1/4 throttle, and almost as if the crank seal was leaking. I pulled the plug...
