Man, that's bad.
Tough luck for the guys who drop $15+ per gallon on this stuff, all in the name of "quality" and "consistency" versus pump gas. If this stuff ruined my motor, I'd be all over VP to cover damages.
A little more information from Keefer's website:

We’ve used Sunoco 110 out of a local pump for 20 years in everything from a CR125 to a super late model stock car. The only fuel related issue I’ve ever had was in 2020 when I bought a 5 gal pail of VP110 and my bike cut out and died leading a harescramble, drained the tank to tear it down and had water in my fuel. Local VP rep was cool and helped me out with money, but the VP 110 is about 30% more expensive than Sunoco for me and cost me a race. Never bothered to touch it again.

Lovely… I ran two gallons of mrx02 before I saw the updated list…
Kiddo blew a new 65 mod motor at 2 hours this weekend on a bad batch of u4.4. Can see it was detonating on the exhaust side of the piston crown, somehow cracked the rod main bearing cage, drew the shrapnel up through a transfer port and devoured the jug, piston and head… cylinder was just plated by US Chrome, new piston and crank - everything mic’d perfectly… I’ve built a bunch of these motors and never had a failure. Bad fuel is the only thing that makes sense.
What exactly is the bad agent in this fuel?
My understanding is a stabilizing chemical that spoiled (maybe due to a bad storage vessel). Anyhow, a very small amount of this chemical is used in a batch of fuel, however without it the fuel spoils - this is how somebody at TD explained to me. Jamie Ellis discussed on Keefers podcast in detail as well
Yea, I just returned my mrx02, and will be going back to c12 I guess. Seems like it has stood the test of time. For my 4 stroke, think I might give Sunoco gyx260 a shot. First need to find if the station plans to keep stocking it. Have a bit of a sour taste in my mouth over the vp deal…
