Good morning, I'm rebuilding an RM80D as well, and and stuck at exactly how many clutch plates of each are required? I got it to run, but won't move. Can you let me know your thoughts on this?

Hi Like I told you if you use an 88 cylinder you will need the 88 valves, the 87 ones will be smaller than the 88 ones Also, the upper part of the rod size is different on both years so the piston, wrist pin, and small bearing will be different too. ... more »

Hi the 87 and 88 are different cylinders the power valves are a different size I think you could be able to use an 88 one, but you will need the 2 valves and 2 guides for that 88 cylinder too

Hi For the #80 decals for the 1980 model you could get them from www.bdesigns.ca, he did all my rm80 1980 decals after I sent all my originals to reproduce them, I don't know if you have it or not but he did the cdi one in metallic backing too, the rear shock
