So I have had these for about 3 months now 10 hours riding and the front flex control has broken, I know a few people have removed this looking for flex but I like the boots stiff. As an update the Australian alpinestars brand manager claims since all their sponsored riders cut it out to get more movement it's not valid for warranty

You can retro fit them along with the seat foam. The wheel spacers requires the fork lugs for the full effect, not sure how much the lugs are though...

So not totally shootout related but down here in Australia the 18 yzf's are on sale discounted with 1% finance, do the new wheel spacers and lugs retro fit to the 18 or are even more parts required ?

Depends on the leg position but the Yamaha still feels a bit bigger at an earlier point and that rolls up to the top, where the Honda feels skinnier at high leg positions due to the shroud ending and not wrapping up to the top of the bike. Maximum width between the two seems to be similar.

I'm in NSW and you 100% nailed it, the cost before you even start your bike is insane, but as an adult trying to race it's the flag Marshall issue that has really killed it, even if I wanted to race I need to ask a friend to stand on a track in the heat or rain all day long...

I've been looking at these too, on apex imports and yes they are a great price, from what info I can find they are considered one of the best pistons in racing chainsaws and such. For the price I'm willing to give them a go.
