Woah Ping! Posterior chain? You might need to do a video explaining what that is to the Moto world haha. For how important it truly is in the sport, every Moto training video I’ve ever seen is incredibly anterior and concentric dominant and those exercises that are posterior focused, typically their form is so bad because of their riding positions and postures being reinforced that it minimizes any training effect! I love that you’re adding some good simple ideas to the equation for people though, its great to see. You should do some more since you have the rep in...

Once you go get Registered Dietician license then you can advise pro athletes. You are right that there is a huge lack of education in the trainers in this sport. Because you used to ride or because you made a guy do a really hard workout, you must know what you’re talking about. I’ve worked in pro sports, multiple cups and championship rings for 8+ years and have MSc in sport science and I’m trying to help make some difference in motocross. 1 step at a time we can have guys educated and performing at really high levels. I didn’t...

The death rate is currently estimated. Estimated upon a sample based on historical outbreaks and most likely 90% confidence interval given that true rates of infection are unknown. All means the margin of error is higher. Also multiple epidemiologists from multiple prestigious universities have all given consensus statements with wide ranging predictions. Hence high uncertainty in any values. The challenge is no one ever wants to provide their margins of error until post containment because of the wide ranging impacts societally. That’s actually a topic covered in epidemiology courses

Ping, Dangerous to say flu kills way more people. That can’t be definitively proven yet because the infection rate and the geographical spread is in the ball park of less than 30% of the common flu. Death rates in susceptible populations is yes the primary factor in morbidity. However, if the current estimated death rate were the same with the infection rate of the common flu, death tolls would be in the hundreds of thousands in the United States alone. Not to mention the potential millions world wide that may be undiagnosed but considered probable, given geographical access to healthcare...

What is it with people in the industry and their insane focus on “functional” training. Your base or GPP should have some of those components of course but every Moto workout video looks exactly the same. All upper body and all about putting people in tons of positions for being unbalanced. Strength and proper recruitment are the requisite needs to be able to balance in unpredictable conditions. Last only one leg exercise in that whole video aside from some lateral shuffles with the new flute bands that are insanely over emphasized considering that their focus on glute medius doesn’t reflect...

If you don't agree with that first part then how do you propose that teams control progression of training. Having your own private camps allows you to make sure you're developing skills that your team wants to see and help set a foundation for your progression of training based on teams core beliefs. I think it's vital to have some way other than just race results to determine a kids progress and that means hands on work from your own team.

The industry needs to grow up with its amateur program and realize the value of having your own club mx or bakers factory. Teams need to establish facilities on east and west and have multiple training camps a year for their youth talent. They need to develop their talent properly and stop tossing it off to hopeful mom and dads training or another idiot who knows nothing but how to destroy a kids career. Early success is no indicator of long term success. This is an actual scientifically studied area of motor learning for performance. Teams are just still stuck...

There are a few options for this. You can either 1) have a class that is pure stock and possibly required for your A and B amateur pros to see who is what and then factories can decide who they want to snatch up, 2) you can require some classes or at lorettas, full disclosures of parts and estimated cost of bikes in order to do some real statistical analysis on recorded lap times and segment times compared to cost/estimated performance of the bike. (This would be similar to some stuff don't in F1 decisions on drivers) Stock class requires...

While I think you make valid points about youth development and time for maturity in the professional ranks, I think the bigger portion of Webb is now having a decently structured program. I leave my comments at decently structured because I spent 7 years as a sport scientist with professional sports and US Special Operations. I think Alfonso Program has a long ways to go but, the industry mindset as a whole does too. Like you said early bloomers with some promise are given every opportunity and support. However science has shown irrevocably that late learners have better performance at...

I would say it's part of it. After you've reached a certain skill level you need significantly more measures variation in your training to improve performance in any sport period. When you groom the track too frequently the variation is less because things are more predictable. However Europe has a much more suitable schedule for performance. The breaks and distribution of schedule is far better for peak performance, where the US schedule of supercross to motocross only lends to significant overtraining and systemic recovery problems impacting performance as a whole. Can still be very successful but generally speaking
