6/18/2022 3:31pm Found the culprit. You can spin it by hand and when it gets to the broken tooth it slips a little and binds up as it hits the next tooth and makes the knocking noise.

It is absolutely necessary to have these tools to split the cases: -flywheel puller -clutch hub holder pliers -case splitter To assemble correctly, I’d also get a crank puller. This pulls the left side case over the crank and pulls the cases together without damaging the crank Rocky Mountain ATV offers these tools through their Tusk line and are affordably priced. If you don’t have these tools, there’s a good chance you will do damage to the motor and incur more cost than what the tools would cost. 6/3/2022 2:43pm Quick update for anyone who has a similar issue and runs across this thread. Put the Billetron 38 on and the bike runs crisp as hell from bottom to top now. There was definitely something going on with the old carb as FGR alluded to. Not sure exactly what it was but either way it's all good now.

5/27/2022 3:11pm Pulled the carb off and set the float height at 7mm. Inspected everything. Blew everything out for good measure. Took off tank and cleaned fuel petcock/filter. Checked fuel line.
