Flight Suspension Added a reply to KTM shock top bolt slop/play/clunk
1/29/2025 8:45am You need to take the shock off and inspect your top bearing. It shouldn't have any play the way you are describing. Would be a good time to grease/replace your other linkage and swingarm bearings.
Flight Suspension Added a reply to WP Rear Suspension on new KTM Models
11/26/2024 2:02pm IMO the compression is way too soft on WP MX shocks, and this causes a rebound problem for quick riders or rough tracks. Try going stiffer and stiffer on low speed and high speed until you get an idea of what direction helps the most.

11/4/2024 9:13am This search will be a lot like dating, you'll start off with high standards, but here soon, you'll settle for whatever you can find.. In all seriousness though, I just went through the same thing and ended up buying a donor bike to srouce the parts i needed. you can find them on ebay occasionally, but the non damaged, non...

8/22/2024 7:16am I have for sale a restored 1993 Kawasaki KX250 (2-Stroke). $5,250 - Location, Central NJ 08822. I tore this bike down to the frame and replaced every single bearing, gasket, bolt, and wear item possible. The frame was repainted using ColorRite period correct matched paint, leveraging a 3-stage primer, paint, & clearcoat process. On re-assembly every bearing was replaced and mechanical part rebuilt. There is simply too much to list so instead of rambling them off I have provided an inventory of all the parts I replaced, which totals $2815 my cost. I am an engineer by trade and rebuilding...

Flight Suspension Added a reply to Swapping 47mm Showa TC for 48mm KYB AOSS forks
7/18/2024 12:19pm 1) I don't have the diameters handy, but may be able to find them. These CRF forks aren't "rare" but they aren't easy to find, because the air fork era started right after this, and any KYB spring forks were gobbled up to remove the PSF's 2) I believe SPD machines their own clamps, so pick your forks and you...
Flight Suspension Added a reply to '24 Husky rear shock spring 240mm, can I use a 260MM?
7/3/2024 1:36pm Correct. There is an engineered "spec" +safety margin. Shock springs of course don't cycle at high frequency like valve springs or something like that, but there are still mechanical limits that apply.
Flight Suspension Added a reply to '24 Husky rear shock spring 240mm, can I use a 260MM?
7/3/2024 1:32pm Potentially. But "thinking" doesn't make me qualified or certified to make a call that could affect the safety of another rider.
Flight Suspension Added a reply to '24 Husky rear shock spring 240mm, can I use a 260MM?
7/3/2024 11:13am Coil bind happens before the physical contact of the coils. Manufacterers determine the coil bind clearance specification depending on wire metallurgy specs and diameters. I'm not in direct contact with WP, so i can't speak to what that clearance is for their shock springs, I was just passing along what I have been told about why they spec the shorter...
Flight Suspension Added a reply to '24 Husky rear shock spring 240mm, can I use a 260MM?
6/27/2024 6:55pm The common consensus is that the 260mm spring will coil bind at full travel, and this could be a dangerous situation. I have not measured this for myself, but among tuners, this is what is agreed on.
