so selling the CRF and going to hunt down a 94-96 cr250. I really would like to run the KYB forks from a 2009-2012 CRF but I can’t recall nor seem to find the upper/lower diameter difference between these and 47mm Showas.
Much appreciated for any help, all 🫶
So let me inquire this again as 2 parts:
1) upper/lower clamp diameter for the KYB aos forks that came on the 2009 crf450r
2) are there and CRF years of Showa this matches with?
Ty, all ☺️
1) I don't have the diameters handy, but may be able to find them. These CRF forks aren't "rare" but they aren't easy to find, because the air fork era started right after this, and any KYB spring forks were gobbled up to remove the PSF's
2) I believe SPD machines their own clamps, so pick your forks and you can probably get them to match diameters to what you need. But, for reference, the 2010-2012 (might need to check the years) CRF 250 had a showa 48mm twin chamber that mimmicked the 48mm KYB on the 450
Well got lucky on a search into the bowels of thumpertalk but the 48mm KYB stuff basically came same as showa per early kxfs or same as Yamaha.
CRF AOS stuff was the latter:
Upper - 54.8mm
Lower - 59mm
