davidpeters Added a reply to KTM 65sx - oil on top of PV diaphragm
2/7/2023 12:11pm You are referring to the diaphragm? I'll take a closer look at that, too. Makes sense. The plug was black but not oily. Usually runs dark brown. I did start the bike up with one or two kicks immediately after with what felt like low compression but heard an intermittent rattle (the valve) so shut it down right away. Wasn't...

2/7/2023 11:31am Our 2014 65 def ends up with "some" oil on top of the diaphram even after fresh rebuild, its not much but definitly not "dry". I think it comes both via exhaust port and non-perfect sealing around the shaft. Its never affected powervalve functionality, but I wipe it out every once in a while too. The Nihalo PV is a quality piece of kit but I'm not sure its necessary versus just locktiting.

2/7/2023 11:32am Thanks VetStuff. There was about a capful of gray viscous oil on top. I could easily cover two fingertips with it. The top of the piston and bore had only a trace of red 2T premix, otherwise "dry." Transmission oil is still golden, only a few hours old. I'm wondering if when the the PV blade and its stem loosened...

2/6/2023 6:33pm Hose was tight at both ends and no cracks. Yes, some oil making its way back inside.

2/6/2023 6:04pm My son lost power midway through his last moto yesterday and immediately pulled off the track. I removed the cylinder today and noticed large amounts of oil on the top side of the power valve diaphragm. The PV blade is stock but it loosened up at the threaded stem near bottom. Do you think fixing the PV is enough or...

12/10/2022 4:34pm Yep, they also list a lighter 1.7 kg pressure spring set with the revalve up front. Correct, 5.3 is what’s stock in back. Your 5.1 is the next size down and is what they want to replace mine with. Maybe the difference in our height warrants a slightly softer/lower setting for you? Any interest in selling the 5.1 rear and...

12/10/2022 8:13am Thanks! I’m at 106 race sag and 41 static with stock shock spring. I called FC again yesterday and they said I’m barely within range but recommends a slightly lighter 5.1 spring (one size difference) in the back with a revalve to balance any work they may do in the front. I asked about going down to 46 from their...

12/8/2022 7:42pm On the heels of the Ken Roczen news is another deal we were expecting, the H.E.P. Suzuki team has signed Kyle Chisholm for US and World Supercross, on a multi-year deal (we've heard it's likely three years). And for those asking, no, Kyle isn't the fill-in for Brandon Hartranft, as this was already in the works before his injury. On top of that, it sounds like Kyle was involved in some testing to help dial in the bike more...ahead of the Ken Roczen tests.

12/8/2022 6:08am You say you swapped springs twice, front and rear. What sizes did you ultimately land on? I weigh about the same, also a vet rider with similar riding preferences. I called FC and they recommend .48 in the front and 5.1 in the rear with revalves. Race Tech recommended .44 in the front and 5.4 in the rear with revalves...
