12/25/2022 1:00pm I would choose the rmz based on just the picture. It looks the most well maintained and the cleanliness of everything in the background is a plus. The 150 looks hammered as does the husky. The yz looks ok. Any bike with new plastics for sale screams lipstick on a pig. JMO.

12/24/2022 2:30pm Hi! I’m getting in to this sport at the age of 35. I’ve decided that I want to try the 125 2T. My budget is limited, 2400$. I have located a few bikes on the market in my town. 1. KTM SX125 2015, unknown hours, new piston, new plastic and some other small stuff. He said the engine is renovated...

12/24/2022 1:26pm I’d go with the YZ as long as it was done with good parts and maybe knock a couple bucks off, if it doesn’t pan out get the newest Austrian bike you can find, the 16+ motors are really strong. Don’t be so scared of the 4cs, both of my bikes have them and I rode them for over two years, never knew they were “the worst fork” ever made until I read about them on Internet forums. Most people who complain about suspension probably don’t even know how to set sag so always take it with a grain of...

12/24/2022 12:54pm Those are all very cheap prices, not that I dont occasionally see running 125s around $2000 but those generally need lots of little things before they are track ready. That said, its hard to go wrong with a YZ125.

12/24/2022 12:53pm Sometimes you buy a blown up bike cheap enough with the sole purpose of rebuilding it to sell on. Not uncommon for a fresh rebuild to have zero hours. Ask for copies of the receipt or pictures of the rebuild for proof.

12/24/2022 12:52pm I did the same thing recently, rebuilt my YZ, put an hour of riding on it, and sold it since I wanted a 250F again. Just because it was recently rebuilt doesn’t mean there’s an issue with it.

12/24/2022 12:52pm I don’t know. I’ve completely rebuilt top and bottom ends in some of my 2-strokes in the past, put a heat cycle or two in them and then sell. It’s not always a red flag. Sometimes you’re rebuilding it for your own peace of mind and then decide you want a change. I only use oem parts, especially in the bottom end. Now if they say fully rebuilt with hot rods kit, or some other cheap aftermarket parts, I tend to lean away towards those.

12/24/2022 12:51pm I agree with Richy on the rebuilding part. Have an 04 RM125 I built last winter just for fun. Put WAY more money in it that I should have building it. I did ride it a couple times though, now just sits since I have a 150SX. I need to sell the RM this spring, but will be hard losing money on the deal.

12/24/2022 2:28pm I don’t want to make it more difficult for me. But a friend of mine told me he knows a guy who wants to sell his RM-Z 250, 2017, 109h, 1 owner. Info: On 100h he did this: New- timing chain, bearings in engine, gaskets in engine, piston. The bike also got Öhlins suspension front and back. Excel wheels with...

12/24/2022 12:29pm Personal opinion on that, often because the work is so cheap and simple on two strokes but you know people will ask anyway, so you do it so that: A . You can sell it knowing it won't come back on you or stitch anyone up B. Knowing you're selling a decent bike and can stick to what you want for it. Most of us are buying and selling because we just want something new or different, not because it's needed. I agree bodgers and idiots, or straight up scammers or unscrupulous people, can muddy this up and make people...
