8/3/2024 9:17am It’s hard to see but the gap between the piston and the cylinder is quite a bit bigger on the intake side this is where the ring stopper things idk what you call them. Anyway I’m wondering if the rings aren’t quite right or if this is normal?

When in doubt, replace everything. You'll be in a worse spot if you cheap out. I learned this many years ago. 😂

Do a leak down test, it's likely to be the clutch side crank seal, but the last generation CR250's were prone to leaking between the crankcases under the intake... M6 bolts holding the cases together were increased to M7 in 2005 to reduce leakage.

7/29/2024 6:59pm It’s a 2003 Honda cr250r. Cylinder is barely starting to get little scratch lines mostly on exhaust side but it’s not bad at all hardly even noticeable. I run 32 to 1 usually but to see if it would help I tried 40 to 1 but it still smoked a lot!

Tough to tell from the coating color and such, but it looks like you’re getting blowby and like the skirt is shiny, meaning the next step (if not already) is piston slap. Let that go long enough and it’ll break the skirt. What bike, what’s the cylinder look like, what oil/fuel, etc?
