7/22/2019 2:13pm Looks like a good solid bike, I just picked up the same model to start a 'rider' resto...mine runs great and is mostly intact, but some prior owner decided the 'update' to new Yamaha blue by spray painting all the plastic...with no masking, of course, so there's overspray everywhere! nothing a little elbow grease and some new plastic bits won't fix...good luck and enjoy!

Canuckcrawler Added a reply to Another 1983 YZ125K Build - The "Basket Case" AKA "Money Pit"
7/22/2019 2:11pm At least your plastics are in decent shape, my '83 needs damn near every piece of plastic. Are you going to modify it as per the Yamaha Wrench Report issued for it?

7/22/2019 1:51pm I have been told that good cream peroxide works quite well, but the key is to heavily coat the tank in the peroxide cream, then seal it in a clear plastic bag and leave it in the sun for a couple of days

6/17/2019 2:56pm Headed to start my honeymoon tomorrow after work! In preparation for 8 days away from work & home: - Suspension is at Noleens for a rebuild and some hard anodizing - Engine is at Tom Morgan Racing for a rebuild - Gas tank is off at JSD racing for restoration Still contemplating on upgrading to a DLS front brake. Will see if i can find a decent deal on one, have a couple ads posted. Probably will cave if it's going any thing like the rest of the build

Canuckcrawler Added a reply to 1986 CR250 no start problem
8/8/2018 10:00am I did the standard resistance tests on the stator and coil today and everything returned within normal range as per the manual. I can't do a peak test As my multimeter isn't capable. Checked timing marks and it is perfectly lined up. Next I'm going to doublecheck the carb over. As Well, I mayremove my spark plug cap and trim...

8/3/2018 9:48am nope. Airbox is clean, as is the pipe. I went through this thing completely, all new bearings in wheels, steering, swingarm, linkage, new clutch, new reeds, replaced the cylinder and had it re-plated and matched to new piston and rings, all new seals, rebuilt the forks etc.

8/1/2018 2:50pm Hello, I recently "completed" a rebuild/restoration of my Cr250. The bike was a basket case when I bought it, and over the last year and a half I have completely rebuilt it. My problem is, it will not run. I have checked for spark (it's new and.properly gapped) and spark is there, I'm getting fuel, as on the 2nd or...

Canuckcrawler Added a comment about feature 7 Things We'd Like to See in Monster Energy Supercross: The Video Game
11/11/2017 11:27am I would love to see the addition of a legends category, where you could compete with Roger DeCoster, Rick Johnson, Marty Moates etc. It would be great if they would include vintage works bikes as well, so you could see how a racer such as Dungey or Tomac would stack up vs Bob Hannah, David Bailey, or Jeff Ward.

Canuckcrawler Started a new thread WTB: clean used pipe for 1986 CR250R
7/27/2017 4:19pm As stated, I am looking for a clean, used pipe for my '86 Honda CR250R. I would prefer an aftermarket pipe (such as FMF, DG or Pro circuit), but will take a good OEM pipe if the offer is right. The pipe that came with my bike doesn't appear to be correct, as it is contacting the bottom of the...
